Requirements
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
  • Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
  • Visa sponsorship: We sponsor visas; however, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate, but we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa
Responsibilities
  • Lead live, hands-on developer sessions at ecosystem events that take startup founders from first API call to committed platform adoption — building in the room, not just presenting slides
  • Design and run build-a-thons, technical office hours, and workshops at VC and accelerator partner events that activate developers against their real use cases
  • Develop a repeatable playbook for turning ecosystem touchpoints into measurable developer sign-ups and active usage
  • Partner closely with the Startups GTM team to create clean handoffs from relationship → activation → retention
  • Create production-quality technical resources and products — working code samples, reference architectures, tutorial repos, and blog posts — that help a 2-person team ship with Claude in under a week
  • Build live demos and prototypes that showcase Claude's real capabilities for common startup use cases, not marketing-grade toy examples
  • Partner with the Product team to stay current on platform capabilities and ensure content reflects what's actually differentiated about Claude
  • Lead the technical track at Anthropic's builder summits and global startup activations
  • Design creative sessions that move developers from curious to building within a single event — with a bias toward live coding over slide decks
  • Identify and build relationships with key technical communities — open-source contributors, developer platforms, and accelerator cohorts
  • Be a trusted, credible technical resource in the startup ecosystem that founders come to for advice
  • Surface real developer signal and founder feedback from the ecosystem back to internal teams
  • Work with GTM, Sales, and Marketing to shape developer-focused activation campaigns grounded in what founders actually care about
  • Collaborate with the Startups Partnerships team to ensure VC and accelerator relationships translate into real developer engagement and usage metrics
  • Stay closely aligned with Product on platform strategy so your content and programs reflect what Claude can genuinely do
  • Own success metrics tied to developer activation, net new logos, and ecosystem engagement — and build reporting that connects your work to business outcomes
  • Build repeatable processes that scale beyond yourself as the startup ecosystem grows
Desired Qualifications
  • Founded a company or been an early employee at a startup — you've lived the 0-to-1 journey and know what it actually takes to go from idea to product-market fit
  • The ability to write production-quality code and build live demos in front of a technical audience — not polished walkthroughs, but real builds that show how to solve a problem
  • 7+ years of experience across a combination of founding, building, and technical roles — developer relations or evangelism is a plus, but builder credibility matters more than a DevRel title
  • High energy and dynamism on stage with a highly technical audience — you can command a room of YC founders and handle tough follow-up questions without losing the thread
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs and shipping AI-powered products — you stay close to the technology and can speak to real production tradeoffs
  • Experience turning ecosystem relationships — with VCs, accelerators, or developer communities — into measurable developer adoption
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends for events
  • Genuine enthusiasm for building AI responsibly — you care about Anthropic's mission beyond the technology itself

Anthropic poaches Google TPU founder to build custom AI chips and cut inference costs in half

Anthropic has hired Amir Salek, founder of Google's Tensor Processing Unit programme, for its compute team. Salek spent four years away from chip design after leaving Google in 2022 to invest in deep-tech startups at Cerberus Capital Management. This follows Anthropic's June hiring of Clive Chan, formerly the second engineer on OpenAI's custom chip programme. The AI company confirmed in August it is building an in-house silicon team to co-design chips with Claude models, aiming to halve inference costs. TechCrunch reported Anthropic has held early manufacturing discussions with Samsung. The moves come whilst Anthropic relies heavily on Google's TPUs, having agreed to purchase up to a million units in October.

Anthropic rolls out AI text watermarks globally to comply with EU law

Anthropic has introduced watermarks for text generated by its AI model Claude, following requirements under the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act. The watermarks, which apply globally, use a method developed by Google that involves selecting specific words and fragments to create a statistically detectable pattern. The EU's AI Act, whose high-risk AI rules took effect this month, mandates transparency in AI-generated content. Companies violating the law face fines of up to 7% of global revenue. The watermarks are invisible to readers and don't affect text quality. They remain embedded when text is copied or edited, allowing potential identification of AI-generated content anywhere. The move is expected to increase tensions between the Trump administration and the EU over digital regulation. President Trump recently announced plans to review and potentially retaliate against what he called the EU's "discriminatory" digital practices.

Anthropic hires Google chip veteran to lead custom semiconductor push

Anthropic PBC has hired Amir Salek, a founder of Google's custom chip programme, as the AI lab prepares to develop its own semiconductors. Salek brings extensive experience from Alphabet's hardware efforts, where he played a key role in establishing the company's custom chip initiative. His appointment signals Anthropic's strategic shift towards hardware development. The move follows a broader industry trend of AI companies designing proprietary chips to optimise performance and reduce reliance on third-party suppliers. Custom semiconductors can offer significant advantages in power efficiency and computational capabilities for AI workloads. Anthropic joins other major AI labs in pursuing vertical integration through hardware development, a strategy that could provide greater control over its technology stack and long-term competitive positioning.

Anthropic lets enterprises store AI data on own infrastructure amid cost pressures

Anthropic will allow enterprise customers to store required data on their own cloud infrastructure, Reuters reported, citing an unnamed source. The AI company maintains its 30-day data retention requirement but now permits businesses to keep that data on their systems rather than Anthropic's. The policy applies to Anthropic's Fable and Mythos models and future frontier models. Anthropic introduced the 30-day retention requirement in June to protect against cyberattacks using its technology. The move follows mounting pressure on enterprise AI spending, with some companies switching to cheaper alternatives like DeepSeek. AI startup Lindy recently migrated from Anthropic's Claude models to DeepSeek, expecting to save millions of dollars within months. Anthropic filed a confidential IPO prospectus in June. Its annualised revenue run rate reached $47 billion in May, according to CNBC.
