Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., energy, environmental science, policy, or engineering) and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; visa sponsorship (H-1B or TN) is not available for this position
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE or equivalent security clearance (e.g., DOE Q)
  • Background check and drug testing may be required for designated positions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word); proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio; ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary
Responsibilities
  • Develops models to forecast economic impacts and workforce transitions related to energy policies and initiatives
  • Designs and adapts economic and employment models to evaluate emerging industries, supply chain shifts, and workforce trends in alignment with Data Tracking Tools, Workforce Policy Analysis And Convening Support initiatives
  • Provides public comment review, data analysis, modeling, evaluation, mapping, forecasting and report development in support of DOE Office of Policy and related energy market economic and regulatory analyses
  • Supports energy policy objectives across renewable energy, fossil fuels, nuclear energy, hydrogen, biofuels, carbon capture, energy storage, grid modernization, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure technologies
  • Builds tools and conducts analyses to address workforce transitions and align energy policies with economic priorities
  • Engages with stakeholders to ensure alignment with DOE objectives and contributes to documentation and dissemination of energy solutions
  • Participates in cross-functional collaboration and high-level DOE strategy discussions as needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in energy, policy, and technical consulting relevant to Department of Energy Office of Policy engagements
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Project management experience and proficiency with project management methodologies and tools
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team management
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities to meet project milestones
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail
  • Competencies in teamwork, problem-solving, organization, and business acumen
  • Willingness to undergo and obtain necessary security clearance if required
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and curiosity in energy sector developments
