Requirements
  • General knowledge of carpentry and the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to learn and understand work-related safety hazards and safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in plant operations or construction jobsite settings.
  • Ability to move through active construction and project-site environments, including uneven terrain and varying surface conditions.
  • Ability to access ground-level, overhead, elevated, and restricted-access work areas using stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated work surfaces.
  • Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, equipment, instruments, and assigned materials.
  • Ability to move, transport, position, push, pull, lift, or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Carpenter in laying out work.
  • Assist the Carpenter with lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting materials during installation.
  • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment.
  • Keep the work area stocked with required materials.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
  • Assist the Carpenter and/or Carpenter Foreman with designing, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
