Requirements
  • Hold current trade certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician/Mechanic (Provincial Journeyman or Interprovincial Red Seal).
  • Maintain Mobile Elevated Work Platform certifications.
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant heavy equipment, light industrial, or oil and gas mechanical work experience.
  • Read and understand complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical technical repair and parts manuals.
  • Drive service vehicles and delivery trucks, tow tandem-axle utility trailers, and understand safe load securement and tie-downs.
  • Hold a valid driver's license, have a clean driving record, and pass a background check.
  • Provide standard tools of the trade.
  • Perform trade-related physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, crawling under equipment, and climbing on equipment.
  • Work outdoors in variable Canadian weather and around dirt, grease, and high-traffic store areas.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair advanced mechanical issues across the large equipment fleet, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, braking, and fuel systems.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, store and lift inspections, and pre-delivery inspections.
  • Coordinate equipment deployments, store-to-store transfers, and auctions as required.
  • Maintain accurate asset tracking and operational GPS systems, and enforce three points of security on all towable equipment.
  • Operate delivery trucks and tow tandem-axle trailers safely.
  • Formulate service strategies with Mobile Service Technicians.
  • Complete parts orders, labor tracking, and work orders using D365 and corporate mobile platforms.
  • Diagnose and order replacement parts within 48 hours after equipment is sidelined, and promptly notify the Regional Rental Manager of delays.
  • Partner with Tool Rental Center associates to provide customer solutions and hands-on training on large equipment standard operating procedures.
  • Respond to urgent customer service calls by providing email updates, coordinating repair logistics, and arriving on-site within 24 hours.
  • Follow company safety protocols, safe lifting and driving techniques, and hazardous materials procedures.
  • Maintain Ministry of Transportation compliance using Samsara Electronic Logging Devices for driver logs and vehicle inspections.
  • Plan and coordinate assigned store locations' workflow, balancing fleet objectives with customer service demands.
  • Travel overnight when required, less than 15% of the time.

Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Home Depot's Temco Logistics lays off 223 workers across three US states

Home Express Delivery Service, operating as Temco Logistics, is laying off 71 workers in Dallas as it closes its flatbed delivery centre in the Mountain Creek neighbourhood. The facility at 9222 W. Jefferson Blvd. will shut down, with affected employees being separated from employment beginning 26 September. Temco Logistics, a delivery and logistics company providing last-mile and white-glove delivery services for appliances and furniture, was acquired by The Home Depot in 2023. The company has filed similar notices in Florida and Georgia, where it is also closing flatbed delivery centres, resulting in a total of 223 job losses across three states.

Morgan Stanley sees $420 upside in Home Depot amid housing market freeze
