Purpose of the Role
As a member of the Obama Presidential Center (OPC) Museum team, the Museum Interactive Media Project Manager will support the Director of Integrated Media over the entire production process for exhibition media. You will work to ensure that exhibition media is produced efficiently, inclusively, at a high level of quality, on-time, and on-budget toward the OPC’s planned opening day. This will be a term position continuing through the museum’s opening in 2026.
You will coordinate the work between external interactive media producers and the Foundation team, serving as a day to day project manager, maintaining and managing schedules and budgets, shepherding content development processes, documenting and tracking decisions, and coordinating reviews, prototyping, and user testing efforts. Additionally, you’ll serve as the primary internal coordinator for accessibility and inclusive design within the media production process, in partnership with other Foundation team members and the Foundation’s inclusive design consultants.
Core Job Responsibilities
Interactive Media Project Management
- General project coordination, including scheduling reviews, regular check-ins, and asynchronous updates with external media producers; documenting meetings and workshops; following up on tasks, open questions, and action items
- Lead interactive media-specific meetings and workshops; create agendas; track and document decisions, action items, and open questions; and facilitate cross-functional communication
- Monitor and revise all media production schedules, tasks, and statuses using the Foundation’s tracking tools (Asana, Google Sheets)
- Track and consolidate comments and feedback from Foundation team, partners, and stakeholders to external interactive media producer
- Coordination of exhibition media requirements and input with exhibition design and fabrication process, including working with internal Foundation staff (exhibition and operation teams) and external partners (exhibition designer, AV integrator, fabricator)
- Support on-site media installation, quality assurance, and punch-list processes
Communications and Presentations
- Manage, facilitate and contribute to internal memoranda, presentations and briefings on media production-related topics
- Presentation and briefings to Foundation leadership and Principals
- Contribute to external-facing presentations and briefings related to media production updates, including coordination with external advisors and advisory groups
Interactive Media Production Coordination
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design needs, including coordinating with relevant consultants on prototyping, user testing, and ensuring continuity of approaches, techniques and systems, between linear and interactive media.
- Serve as internal point of contact for interactive media prototyping activities, including scheduling, planning, and communication
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Deliverables / Outcomes
- Interactive media production budget, schedule, and vendor relationships through careful planning, organization of materials, and communication and follow-up.
- Tools and processes that build on and improve established OPC Museum team conventions for documentation and tracking
- Strong relationships with Foundation team members, external consultants, and external media producers that enable proactive communication and problem-solving throughout a complex production process.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in interactive media production coordination or project management, ideally in managing digital and interactive media processes for the non-profit or cultural sector
- Experience in managing content development and writing processes
- Driven to create welcoming, inclusive, and accessible museum and digital experiences for all visitors
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, without losing track of the big picture
- Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal
- Fluency with a range of software SaaS programs, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, Slack, Zoom
- Willingness and ability to travel and work unusual hours as necessary to accommodate operational requirements
The salary range for this role is between $59,755 and $74,670.
