42% of consumers confused by life insurance policies, 1 in 4 abandon purchase

Life insurers face a relevance crisis, according to the World Life Insurance Report 2027 from Capgemini and LIMRA. The study surveyed over 6,100 consumers globally and found that whilst 47% consider buying life insurance, more than 40% feel confused or unconvinced by available information. One in four abandon the purchase process. Younger consumers aged 18-40 are particularly affected, with 28% dropping out before completion. Technical language, affordability concerns, and perceived irrelevance drive these exits. The report reveals nearly 40% of policyholders rarely hear from insurers post-purchase, and half who discontinue do so within three years. However, best-in-class insurers—representing just 10% of carriers—achieved 41% higher revenue growth and 12% lower lapse rates through personalised engagement and data-driven strategies.

HMRC awards Capgemini $47M SAP migration contract, extending 28-year relationship

The UK's HM Revenue & Customs has awarded Capgemini a £37 million contract to migrate its Enterprise Tax Management Platform from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA. The contract runs until 2032, potentially extending Capgemini's involvement with HMRC's tax systems to 28 years since the relationship began in 2004. The platform handles more than £800 billion in tax revenue and payments annually for 40,000 users. HMRC insisted the procurement was fair and competitive, with several bidders competing from the Digital Legacy Application Services framework. Capgemini became HMRC's lead technology supplier in 2004 under the Aspire contract. A 2014 parliamentary committee found that Aspire cost £7.9 billion between 2004 and 2014, generating £1.2 billion in combined profit for Capgemini and Fujitsu.

Capgemini raises 2026 revenue growth target to 8.5-9% after strong H1 performance

Capgemini has upgraded its 2026 revenue growth outlook following strong first-half performance. The French IT services firm now expects constant currency revenue growth of around 8.5% to 9.0%, up from its previous target of 6.5% to 8.5%. The company reported revenues of €12.1 billion in the first half of 2026, up 8.8% year-on-year, with constant currency growth of 11.3%. Operating margin reached 12.5% of revenues, up 10 basis points year-on-year. Chief executive Aiman Ezzat attributed the performance to strong demand for AI-driven transformation services, particularly agentic AI and physical AI solutions. Capgemini maintained its operating margin target of 13.6% to 13.8% and organic free cash flow guidance of €1.8 billion to €1.9 billion for the full year.

Capgemini launches AI-powered 'Inside My Race' for Tour de France personalised fan experience

Capgemini and the Tour de France have launched "Inside My Race", an AI-powered digital platform that provides fans with personalised, near real-time insights during the cycling race. As the Tour's official technology partner, Capgemini developed the solution to transform complex data into contextual stories and tailored race analysis. The platform uses generative AI to interpret live race data, combining information on positioning, speed and terrain with editorial content and historical performance. Fans can follow up to four favourite riders and receive personalised narratives before, during and after each stage. A 3D map visualises selected riders' progress compared to race leaders. The solution, available from 4 July on Tour de France platforms, represents the first innovation from Capgemini's partnership with the event, aiming to make cycling more accessible to global audiences.
