Requirements
  • Crane operating, rigging, and flagging experience is required.
  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), Alabama State Docks Badge, and valid driver's license are required.
  • Must be physically able to work outdoors and climb ladders.
  • Must have good vision.
  • Must be comfortable working around heights and water.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to a safe, team-oriented culture.
Responsibilities
  • Service and operate land-based and barge-mounted cranes supporting stevedoring and terminal operations.
  • Work on and maintain barges, docks, equipment, and related assets as directed by the crew foreman.
  • Load and unload ships and barges efficiently and safely.
  • Service and fuel cranes and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot crane systems and assist with repairs.
  • Instruct and train deckhands and crane operators in training.
  • Submit required daily inspections.
  • Inspect and change cables and rigging.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.
  • Order and maintain supplies from the warehouse.
