Requirements
- A bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years of development experience in a Java/J2EE environment.
- Experience with problem solving, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, code, test, and implement application enhancements while providing general production support within defined scope, target dates, and budgets.
- Participate in the full system development life cycle according to current Highmark software development life cycle standards.
- Collaborate with customers, business analysts, partners, and information technology team members to understand business requirements and design quality technical solutions.
- Provide technical support, including release implementations and on-call or 24x7 support when necessary.
- Perform work in compliance with Highmark and Highmark information technology standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate on project teams in roles such as Developer, Technical Lead, and Project Manager, based on experience level.
- Communicate with team members, customers, partners, and management, including assisting with or conducting technical walkthroughs, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions, and providing accurate documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of relevant, progressive development experience in a Java/J2EE environment.
- Technical development experience with Java, Java applets, Java servlets, JavaScript, XML, JSP, EJB, object-oriented concepts and patterns, Spring, Harvest, MyEclipse, AJAX, JSF, WebSphere 7.0, Java 6, JPA, J2EE, SQL, Oracle, HTML5, Dojo, and UML.
- Certification in applicable areas, such as Java Developer, DB2, or Cognos certification.
- Five years of experience in the healthcare or health insurance industry.
