Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Must maintain a licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist credential with the State of Florida.
Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to patients as part of the Clinical Nutrition team.
  • Write orders per policy.
  • Counsel patients and/or significant others on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections, considering cultural, religious, and ethnic requests and preferences.
  • Develop, implement, and document nutritional care plans based on assessment of patient nutritional needs, nutrition status, and disease-state requirements.
  • Assess patients' nutritional requirements and specific needs over the lifespan.
  • Apply evidence-based knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for appropriate nutrition-related care of patients.
  • Communicate dietary history and nutritional care data through the medical record documentation system.
  • Participate in physician and healthcare team interdisciplinary rounds, as applicable.
  • Adhere to Orlando Health policies, procedures, guidelines, mission and vision statements, and commitment to excellence.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Represent Orlando Health through outside speaking engagements to the community and/or media events as assigned.
  • Represent the Clinical Nutrition Department as a participant on task forces or committees as assigned.

Florida cancer centre opens 31,000 sq ft St Petersburg facility with on-site imaging

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County. The location at 725 6th Ave South features 18 private exam rooms, 47 infusion chairs and on-site PET/CT imaging. The facility offers advanced treatments including bispecific therapies and clinical trial participation, with plans to expand outpatient cell therapy programmes.
