The VP Finance, Sales & Marketing will deliver data driven insight and analytics to the Global Sales and Marketing function, serving as a key decision partner to Broadridge’s President and having responsibility for all GSMS financial planning and analysis activities. This is an exciting opportunity to help ensure we optimize our sales resources and investment as we aim to deliver the BR4.0 goal of $500M of annual recurring sales.
The VP Finance, Sales & Marketing will provide a range of data, analytics and modeling to the Sales Leadership Team to drive actionable decisions on the allocation of sales resources and design of variable compensation spend to optimize sales outcomes and returns. He/she will also partner with the Sales Leadership Team on deal structure and commercials. In addition, the VP Finance will deliver timely financial information including Plan, forecast and productivity metrics to explain operating performance and provide strategic insight on the short-, medium- and longer-term outlook of the business.
The candidate needs to have a visible “seat at the table,” influencing and aligning sales leadership to multiyear objectives through financial planning and decision frameworks grounded in solid financial and business criteria.
Responsibilities:
Data Driven Insight & Analytics
- Partner with the Sales Leadership Team to design, implement and continuously refine actionable metrics, analytics and insights into the drivers of sales performance, including resource allocation, variable compensation plans, deal structures and commercials
- Lead all sales analytics and investment prioritization frameworks in partnership with GSMS and Product leadership as well as Segment Finance and Global Pricing teams. Provide insights through ongoing data analysis covering areas such as pipeline conversion stats, sales cycles, sales to revenue conversion times, product performance and mix, compensation cost of sale, win loss ratios, ROI, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, etc
- Develop financial plans by evaluating sales performance and organic growth; establish key operating metrics; assess levers available for improving efficiency and profitability; and, implement change in an evolving organization. Provide clear solutions and recommendations to guide growth
- Deliver key financial and performance metrics to reflect costs to sell our offerings, enabling deal and product profitability analysis. This includes selling costs, variable compensation (commissions, quota and other bonuses), marketing return, product and client margins – all to inform decision-making on the ongoing development and management of the GSMS operating budget and alignment to multiyear objectives
- Support the Chief Procurement and Real Estate Officer to track and monitor global real estate expenditure including the long term financial profile of our global real estate portfolio, highlighting key decision points and opportunities
Performance Management
- Establish and lead best-in-class processes for planning and forecasting sales, variable compensation and sales and marketing expenses including headcount
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
- In partnership with the Chief Sales Officer, own the sales roll call policy, updating it as appropriate, and ensure its consistent application
- Establish processes to capture spend across key uses (e.g. business unit sales and marketing spend, sales headcount, etc.) and partner with segment CFOs, Sales Leadership and Head of Corporate Planning & Analytics to address existing allocation models for shared-expense pools
Team Leadership
- Lead a high calibre FP&A team by developing and attracting top talent, assessing and addressing individual and group needs, communicating well, and driving high levels of engagement
- Evolve Finance function to be world class excellence across all operations including profitability measurement, metrics, reporting, processes
- Remain current on external and industry performance metrics and strengthen the “university culture” of continuous learning and progression
Preferred Background & Skills:
Technical/Functional
- Accomplished business and finance leader with a consistent record of high performance, financial and operational leadership
- Extensive experience partnering with sales and marketing functions of Fin-tech and SAAS based companies
- Ability to develop and maintain C- level relationships to drive strategic planning
- Strong collaborator and communicator. Excellent analytical, financial and management skills
- Deep understanding of Finance process and near-and-long-term economic and accounting implications to free cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, etc
- Outstanding ability to breakdown complex ideas and ambiguous situations into understandable and meaningful messages
Leadership
- Proactive, continuous learning attitude and a relentless passion to win. Bias for action
- Ability to balance attention to detail and accuracy with a sense of urgency on critically meaningful work
- Effective and inspiring team leadership skills with proven ability to recruit, develop and retain top talent through coaching and recognition

Experience
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in sales operations, FP&A and/or financial analysis with direct exposure/understanding of complex SaaS cycles and operating cadence
- Preferable financial service and/or fintech industry experience
- MBA and/or other relevant higher-level professional certifications preferred
