- U.S. citizenship is required.
- A bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
- At least 20 years of practical experience in Nuclear Facility Engineering and at least 10 years of experience with Liquid Waste Engineering Programs, including conduct of engineering, engineering training and qualification, and configuration control are required.
- Prior experience as a qualified assessor is required; prior experience as a Liquid Waste assessor in Engineering Programs is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic document control and configuration management systems, such as EPFM, SPF, and Asset Suite, is required.
- Prior experience implementing S/RID requirements at SRS is required.
- An understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Configuration Management for facilities operating within a nuclear-regulated environment is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with clients, cross-disciplinary departments, support organizations, and management are required.
- Prior expertise in technical writing and interpreting and using complex technical documentation is required.
- Work schedule is 40 hours per week; available schedules include 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s, with a 4/10 schedule preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office business tools is required; the ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio, with the ability to learn other tools quickly.
Responsibilities
- Provide Engineering Program Management support as a senior advisor to Engineering Managers for ongoing Liquid Waste operations, tank closure, project activities, and waste solidification activities.
- Conduct Engineering Program assessments, including Conduct of Engineering, Nuclear Safety, Engineer Training and Qualifications, Configuration Management, and other assessments requested by Liquid Waste Management based on its self-assessment schedule.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert and Functional Area Program Manager for Functional Area 09, Configuration Management, as requested by Liquid Waste Management based on Manual 22Q, Contractor Assurance System Manual requirements.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed changes or modifications to approved programs and procedures for compliance with revised source documents, as described in Manual 8B, Compliance Assurance Manual.
- Apply systems and equipment expertise to resolve technical system and equipment issues in cooperation with related disciplines.
- Act as a technical point of contact for plant systems in Liquid Waste regarding Engineering Programs.
- Coordinate configuration management activities and assess system health and performance.
- Observe, assess, and mentor procedure compliance.
- Observe, assess, and mentor error awareness and error reduction in Human Performance.
- Provide verbal and written feedback to Engineering Management and other Senior Management.
- Provide subject matter expertise to an assigned functional area; specific roles and responsibilities and any additional qualifications will be identified in each solicitation.
- In special circumstances requiring staff augmentation, solicitations are issued to staff augmentation companies with a brief job description and qualifications, price schedule, Service Contract Act exemption form, and preferred candidate contact information if applicable.
- Staff augmentation companies solicit the services or contact the preferred candidate, if applicable, to negotiate a competitive fully burdened labor rate.
- Submit candidate resumes, price schedules, and Service Contract Act exemption forms for consideration and evaluation.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Integrated Safety Management is a plus.
- A 4/10 work schedule is preferred.
