- Detailed knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, underpinned by a NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate as a minimum and other relevant HSEQ training.
- Membership with professional bodies such as IOSH or equivalent.
- Practical HSE experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, or a similar medium- to high-risk industry, with experience applying health and safety practices in varied working environments.
- Experience investigating incidents and accidents, managing investigations, compiling reports, and conducting detailed root cause analysis.
- Excellent report-writing skills.
- Experience developing and delivering HSEQ training packages, including inductions, toolbox talks, safety alerts, incident investigation, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant applications.
- Experience coordinating external client and supplier audits and associated activities.
- Experience supporting teams in delivering high standards of safety, quality, and environmental management through appropriate processes, communication, auditing, and follow-up.
- Provide health and safety advice and support to service teams to meet legislative, ISO, company-process, and Heathrow standards.
- Support implementation of QHSE policies to drive improvements and gain or maintain certification.
- Promote proactive QHSE management through regular contact with supervisors, managers, and Heathrow representatives.
- Drive an incident- and injury-free culture.
- Maintain focus on risk reduction, risk management, and behavioural safety.
- Assist teams in compiling and communicating user-friendly QHSE documentation, including health and safety meeting materials, training materials, and noticeboard materials.
- Assist managers in ensuring team competence and maintaining adequate records of key risks and non-conformances.
- Liaise with service and Heathrow teams to close out actions and non-conformances.
- Carry out fire, workplace/welfare, and PUWER risk assessments in designated locations.
- Support site teams with investigations of issues, accidents, incidents, and non-conformances, including producing reports and root cause analyses.
- Facilitate corrective and preventive actions for significant issues with relevant teams and managers.
- Undertake internal audits, produce reports, and follow up on findings.
- Communicate companywide issues to relevant teams.
- Assist the QHSE Manager and support other advisors across service and project teams in meeting objectives.
- An internal auditing qualification, specifically an Internal Auditor qualification, is desired.

The demonstration illustrates how parcels move through key processing stages and how each solution contributes to optimized throughput and overall operational efficiency. SPOX is Vanderlande's revolutionary next-generation line sorter, combining multiple sortation capabilities within a single system. It delivers high-capacity sortation within a compact, sustainable and flexible design, capable of handling a broad range of parcel types, from envelopes and polybags to large boxes. SPOX is designed to adapt to complex facility layouts and features intelligent carriers with independent shoe control, ensuring uninterrupted operations and minimizing downtime. PARCELTRAX is Vanderlande's auto consolidated bagging system for small parcel handling. This solution is designed to fit underneath existing sorters and can handle any type of small parcel bag. Its scalability means that PARCELTRAX can be installed on any number of chutes and provides continuous performance, even if an individual chute or section of rail requires maintenance. As it automates manual and repetitive tasks, PARCELTRAX also increases sorting capacity, allows for better use of resources and improves working conditions. Vanderlande will also showcase how predictive maintenance enhances operational performance. Logistics automation co Vanderlande opens India Innovation Centre in Pune. Vanderlande India is the company's second-largest technology hub globally. Vanderlande, a logistics process automation company, has inaugurated its India Innovation Centre in Pune, with a focus on India's engineering, innovation, and technology talent ecosystem. The new centre will serve as a collaborative hub for developing next-generation automation solutions across warehousing, airports, and parcel operations for Vanderlande's global customers.
Vanderlande wins contract to supply SPOX sorter for DHL Express facility in Cologne. DHL Express Germany has awarded Vanderlande a contract to provide automation solutions - including the SPOX sorter - for its new facility in Cologne. The agreement was signed on October 21 at Parcel+Post Expo 2025 in Amsterdam. This will be the first time this sorter has been installed at a DHL facility. Able to sort 6,000 items per hour, SPOX will allow DHL Express Germany to handle a mixed flow of regular and small parcels in the Cologne facility - including those as thin as 5mm. The sorter has been designed and built with sustainability in mind. When components wear out, they can be refurbished and then reintegrated into the system. In addition to the sorter, Vanderlande will provide two chutes, nine truck outfeeds and three van lines. It will also implement its PACE Sort sortation control software. This delivers secure host integration and advanced sortation logic to help manage complex parcel flows. It will reportedly be the first time this software has been installed at a greenfield site for DHL Express. "This contract win reflects DHL's trust in Vanderlande and shows the strength of our longstanding partnership," said Markus Ehrmann, executive managing director of Vanderlande. "We're delighted to be installing SPOX, our unique sorting solution that has been manufactured according to the principles of circularity, and that provides customers with improved flexibility and accuracy." "Vanderlande's solution will allow us to handle the parcel flow with increased efficiency, along with the ability to sort a diverse range of items," added Christian Knieps, director of engineering at DHL Express Germany. "As ever, our team will be working closely with Vanderlande through the installation phase to ensure a seamless integration before go-live, which is set for September 2026."
Vanderlande has been selected by Kmart to automate its new logistics facility at the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct in Sydney.
Copenhagen Airport has awarded Vanderlande a contract to deliver 20 automated screening lanes with central image processing as part of a major revamp of its passenger checkpoint process.
