About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in Systems Integration or related R&D functions focused on complex mechatronic or autonomous systems.
  • Breadth of experience working with systems and teams that include mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Knowledge of key architectures and functionality of electro-mechanical, compute, and power systems.
  • A track record of designing and running engineering tests and characterizations for high-performance platforms.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional deep-dives and drive definitive technical decisions while triaging critical, multi-system anomalies.
  • Expertise integrating complex electro-mechanical systems across systems, hardware, software, and control systems.
  • Expertise in system-, subsystem-, and component-level debugging, data logging, and root cause analysis.
  • Expertise with instrumentation and test development.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead bring-up of new subsystems, including torso, perception, energy, and compute, and integrate them into full humanoid robotic systems.
  • Bring up and integrate full robotic systems, and drive collaboration with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Verify hardware/software interfaces and confirm system-level interactions during early development stages.
  • Develop, execute, and scale integration plans; anticipate obstacles and ensure readiness for prototype builds, partner delivery, and engineering verification and validation test campaigns.
  • Architect the strategy for nominal-path functional tests that confirm correct operation of robot mobility, manipulation, perception, charging, and other functions.
  • Drive technical direction for developing integration-level test cases and automated test workflows.
  • Track system-level performance, risks, and stability, and provide feedback for design iteration.
  • Drive resolution of complex, systematic issues identified during system bring-up or functional testing, and mentor the team in triaging and resolving issues.
  • Drive cross-functional debugging sessions spanning mechanical, electrical, and software teams.
  • Use structured problem-solving and data analysis methods to identify root causes and define corrective actions.
  • Work with systems, hardware, software, and test engineers to align design intent, requirements, and system performance.
  • Document integration issues and outcomes in internal knowledge bases to accelerate future debugging and prevent recurrence.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of tools, diagnostic systems, and workflows that improve team productivity and system stability across the integration function.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians in systematic troubleshooting and integration practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Nvidia Jetson.
  • Experience with computer vision systems.
  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or other safety-critical domains.
  • Knowledge of humanoid or mobile robotic architectures and subsystems.

About the Company

Agility Robotics

Humanoid robots and automation software platform

Agility Robotics designs and sells humanoid robots and an accompanying software platform to automate labor-intensive tasks. Its flagship robot Digit works with the cloud-based Agility Arc platform to perform tasks in warehouses, manufacturing, retail, eCommerce, and distribution centers. The system combines Digit’s mobility and manipulation capabilities with software that coordinates tasks, scheduling, and data, enabling effective human–robot collaboration on labor tasks. What sets Agility Robotics apart is its humanoid form and emphasis on mobile manipulation, paired with a cloud automation platform and plans for an App Store for Labor to offer a range of labor-related applications. The company’s goal is to help humans be more productive by augmenting workers’ capabilities and allowing them to focus on more complex and creative tasks, while delivering reliable labor solutions through direct sales, service contracts, and a potential software ecosystem.
