  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified Nursing Certification may be required depending on state regulations.
  • CPR certification.
  • One or more years of paid or volunteer experience working with seniors is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when working with elderly residents.
Responsibilities
  • Promote the dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, choice, and rights of residents.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication reminders, in accordance with care plans and established community policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents with lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transporting into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
  • Assist with dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including setup, cleanup, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
  • Monitor residents’ physical and cognitive wellbeing and report changes to the nurse and supervisor.
  • Deliver nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provide assistance as needed to ensure intake; document intake according to community policy and procedure.
  • Participate in life enrichment programming and provide meaningful activities to residents.
  • Document resident care accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
