Requirements
- MS or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- 7+ years experience in camera calibration/synchronization, object pose estimation, classification, and tracking with traditional and deep-learning techniques
- Proficiency in C++/Python, Linux environment, and version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience leading teams of developers through the release process
- Strong foundational knowledge in mathematics, probability, and statistics as applied to computer vision and perception
- Strong analytical skills and ability to learn at hyperspeed
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability and drive to collaborate effectively with a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to make decisions autonomously
- Ability to work in our HQ in Pasadena, CA.
Responsibilities
- Develop multi-object detection, classification and tracking algorithms
- Work on state estimation and multi-sensor fusion
- Formulate problems using statistical machine learning methods or neural network approaches
- Develop and iterate on neural network architectures in Tensorflow/Pytorch
- Explore and integrate advanced deep learning methodologies for improved perception capabilities
- Analyze and visualize results of experiments, test models in simulation and real environments
- Integrate perception solutions with ROS
- Gather requirements and define specifications for machine learning solutions
- Team up on specifications to build multi-disciplinary solutions to perception problems
- Review specifications, designs, and code for team members
- Follow development process to manage software quality
- Keep up to date on the latest developments in perception and computer vision
- Build and manage machine learning infrastructure for distributed training and experiment management
- Work on scaling and refining perception system for deployability across a fleet of robots
- Leverage synthetic data generation and simulation environments for testing and training of perception algorithms
- Participate in design sessions with the team to build a shared understanding of the product
- Maintain documentation on the systems created
