Requirements
  • 3–6 years of experience in thermal analysis, aero-thermal analysis, or secondary airflow systems.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Familiarity with fluid dynamics and heat transfer theory.
  • Experience with one-dimensional and two-dimensional flow modeling and solvers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work closely with customer teams and offer proactive solutions.
  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
  • Ability to work core hours from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and complete typical 40-hour workweeks.
  • Ability to adhere strictly to procedures in heavily regulated industries.
Responsibilities
  • Use computational tools to perform thermal analysis for gas turbine components and turbomachinery.
  • Lead the development of geometry and mesh for analysis models, including model setup and analysis.
  • Post-process results and prepare high-quality presentations.
  • Prepare and present reports on findings during formal technical reviews.
  • Create, support, and maintain secondary airflow system models and whole-engine models.
  • Develop and participate in root-cause investigations and risk or failure mode and effects analyses for gas turbine engines.
  • Take ownership of analyses from setup through presentation.
  • Contribute to engine-level modeling, performance optimization, and root-cause investigations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to gas turbines.
  • Experience with Star-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, or CFX.
