Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, such as civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction is required.
  • Relevant experience supporting projects valued at $50 million or more from conception to completion across diverse commercial market sectors is required.
  • Prior conceptual estimating and bidding experience in commercial construction is required.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices is required.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex challenges and present alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, P6, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
  • Proven experience implementing and enforcing safety procedures on construction sites.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring current or future work-authorization sponsorship from the company.
Responsibilities
  • Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures; conduct weekly safety inspections and monthly safety audits.
  • Enforce quality standards, processes, and procedures and conduct quality-control audits.
  • Direct construction activities and administrative processes through project planning, execution, and closure.
  • Support identification and pursuit of new business-development opportunities while maintaining repeat client relationships.
  • Estimate and take off project scope, cost, and duration; analyze subcontractor bids; select and contract subcontractors; and prepare bid proposals for owners.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions.
  • Recommend methods, materials, and layouts that reduce construction costs based on design needs and capabilities.
  • Determine manpower, materials, and equipment resources from project start to finish within budgetary limitations.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses and direct or monitor compliance with building and safety codes, regulations, and insurer requirements.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods that reduce costs, save time, and deliver value.
  • Maintain communication, project progress, and productive interaction among stakeholders to reduce overall risk.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks, including maintaining construction documents and processing paperwork such as pay applications and project closeout documents.
  • Maintain and control project scope and budget.
  • Prepare and update project manpower projections and coverage plans.
  • Initiate, review, and negotiate change orders.
  • Direct, coordinate, and monitor construction workers' activities on site to ensure specifications are met.
  • Conduct weekly project owner-architect-contractor, subcontractor, and internal staff meetings.
  • Assign and lead the day-to-day work of Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.
