Requirements
  • At least six years of experience in public relations, communications, or marketing in an agency or in-house environment.
  • A college degree, ideally in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Established editorial relationships across relevant consumer, lifestyle, business, and trade media.
  • A proven track record of developing media strategies, securing meaningful coverage, and identifying creative, newsworthy story opportunities.
  • Experience supporting corporate communications, executive visibility, thought leadership, and brand storytelling.
  • Strong client-management skills and the ability to provide clear, confident, and thoughtful counsel.
  • Seasoned writing and editing skills, with proven experience drafting executive messaging, thought-leadership materials, and press-facing content.
  • Strong project and people-management skills.
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information proactively.
  • The ability to adapt to changing timelines and priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily workflow of a minimum of four to five accounts and report account status to the Director and/or Senior Vice President.
  • Translate client priorities into clear communications plans, including story strategies, media opportunities, tactics, timelines, and measurable goals.
  • Work cohesively with relevant departments across integrated strategies.
  • Develop and execute press strategies supporting brands, innovations, and category launches.
  • Execute and advise on public-relations strategies and collaboratively develop strategic media plans.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with influential editors, journalists, producers, podcast hosts, and other relevant media contacts.
  • Proactively pitch and secure editorial opportunities that advance corporate and brand narratives, strengthen reputation, and position clients and leaders at the forefront of their industries.
  • Drive business, trade, and consumer coverage, including company profiles, executive interviews, thought-leadership features, trend stories, product coverage, and long-form narratives.
  • Lead executive-visibility programs spanning media interviews, speaking engagements, panels, awards, podcasts, contributed content, and other thought-leadership opportunities.
  • Monitor industry news and identify new coverage opportunities and story angles throughout the year.
  • Serve as the daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate.
  • Address client issues thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Develop, review, and approve agendas, press releases, pitches, recaps, reports, and other materials.
  • Lead client meetings and ensure agendas, recaps, timelines, and action items are clear, accurate, and actionable.
  • Ensure client milestones and deliverables remain on track, within scope, and aligned with agreed objectives.
  • Manage client expectations and help clients maximize their relationship with BPCM.
  • Review media and reports compiled by junior team members on relevant client news and trends.
  • Oversee press-credit reporting according to client preference.
  • Use MuckRack, PowerPoint, and Excel for reporting and related work.
  • Draft and contribute to press releases and client materials, including Q&A documents, encompassing brand messaging and positioning.
  • Develop and edit corporate narratives, executive messaging, and press-facing materials that communicate client perspectives and support broader reputation goals.
  • Advise select senior executives on LinkedIn strategy and oversee content development that amplifies company news, industry insights, and executive perspectives.
  • Communicate strategies and ideas clearly and persuasively in writing, presentations, and client discussions.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and timely distribution of editorial reports, press clippings, and budgetary-tracking documents.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to junior-level staff on team issues, account workflow, and general account management.
  • Participate in developing materials for new-business opportunities, including timelines, proposals, business decks, and case studies.
  • Assist in generating new-business leads.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop strategic and creative thinking for clients.
  • Help foster an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful team environment.
