Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of relevant and progressive manufacturing management experience, including leading production or direct labor.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify improvement opportunities, facilitate change, and develop innovative workflow and process solutions within the ITW Business Model.
  • Proven ability to independently lead cross-functional improvements, apply analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills, and deliver measurable results.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence competencies including ITW Toolbox, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners and executive-level leaders, influence without authority, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% because some direct reports and equipment contract manufacturers are located in other locations.
Responsibilities
  • Drive results in safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and continuous improvement for the Industrial Equipment and Automation division.
  • Oversee multiple manufacturing operations in Appleton and partnerships with equipment contract manufacturers in United States locations.
  • Develop a safety-first culture, strengthen the ITW Toolbox operations strategy, build a diverse talent pipeline, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across internal operations, key suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
  • Manage a team of production leaders and support the development and execution of plans to improve safety, quality, labor efficiency, and inventory.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with contract manufacturers and key suppliers for automation systems.
  • Establish short- and long-term operational objectives and develop plans to achieve production and business goals, including budget and capital requirements.
  • Review, revise, and approve budget proposals from direct reports and submit budgets for assigned areas in accordance with established procedures.
  • Use sales, inventory metrics, and forecasts to create operational plans.
  • Partner with supply chain on strategic sourcing initiatives that improve supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and operational scalability.
  • Hire, develop, and retain a diverse team while building a strong talent pipeline and supporting career development.
  • Communicate company and department plans, priorities, and performance progress to employees and key stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement while developing a flexible, responsive workforce.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to identify best practices, leverage shared operational capabilities, and support business growth.

ITW raises dividend 7% and authorises $6B share buyback programme

Illinois Tool Works Inc. has announced a 7% increase in its annual dividend, raising it from $6.44 to $6.88 per share. The fourth-quarter dividend of $1.72 will be payable on 9 October 2026 to shareholders of record on 30 September 2026. The company's board has also authorised a new $6 billion share repurchase programme. Management will determine the timing and volume of buybacks at its discretion. Christopher O'Herlihy, president and chief executive officer, said the moves reflect the strength of ITW's business model and confidence in long-term growth and free cash flow generation. This marks the company's 63rd consecutive annual dividend increase. ITW is a Fortune 300 manufacturing company with $16 billion in revenue in 2025.
