Requirements
  • A two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, equipment electrical systems, aftertreatment systems, and hydraulic components.
  • Experience using hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment.
  • Ability to read and use hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
  • Ability to properly document completed work.
  • Willingness to work on a variety of equipment in both shop and field environments.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical components, and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
  • Use a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes during the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
  • Write and complete service reports.
  • Participate in company training programs.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy construction equipment, including trucks, trailers, and small construction equipment as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience is preferred.
  • Crane knowledge is a plus.
