K/DA and LoL Worlds go beyond the screen with Korea collaborations.

K/DA and LoL Worlds go beyond the screen with Korea collaborations. Published: Oct. 23, 2026 - 14:01:06 Lee Yoon-seo Covering TV, streaming, esports and the business and cultural trends shaping Korean entertainment Riot Games rolls out pop-up stores, fashion collections and limited-edition goods across Korea Riot Games is rolling out a series of collaborations in Korea, including offline pop-up stores and limited-edition merchandise, to mark the opening of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship and the return of its virtual girl group K/DA. The 2026 LoL World Championship, Riot Games' flagship annual tournament and one of the biggest events in esports, kicked off on Oct. 15. Meanwhile, K/DA, a virtual girl group made up of characters from the popular online game LoL and voiced by K-pop artists and international pop stars, made its comeback Monday after a six-year hiatus. To mark both occasions, Riot Games said it is partnering with various brands, including Lotte Department Store, Uniqlo, 7-Eleven, Olive Young, IAB Studio and Photoism, to introduce a range of collaborative products and offline events spanning food, fashion and lifestyle. In the food and lifestyle segment, Riot Games is teaming up with 7-Eleven to release seven collaborative products ahead of Pepero Day, celebrated every year in Korea on Nov. 11. The lineup includes two Pepero gift sets featuring K/DA designs and five merchandise bundles, all of which will be rolled out in phases beginning later this month. On the fashion front, Riot Games is collaborating with Uniqlo and IAB Studio on K/DA-themed merchandise. Starting Friday, Uniqlo will offer its "UTme!" customization service featuring K/DA designs at its Lotte World Mall and Myeong-dong stores. Customers will be able to select and arrange K/DA-themed digital stamps using in-store iPads, then have their personalized designs printed on T-shirts, tote bags and other items. IAB Studio, a Korean fashion and design brand, will release a K/DA capsule collection inspired by the group's latest single, "Firestarter." Unlike larger seasonal collections, capsule collections typically consist of a smaller selection of limited-edition products developed around a specific theme or collaboration. The collection will be available offline at the Music & Worlds pop-up store at Olive Young N Seongsu, and online on Worksout, a Korean multi-brand retailer specializing in streetwear and lifestyle products. Riot Games will also expand its merchandise lineup through its online and offline Riot Stores. New offerings will include collaborative products with global merchandise brands Youtooz, known for its collectible figures and plush toys, and Tokidoki, as well as Riot Games' own K/DA-themed apparel and other merchandise. Beyond merchandise, Riot Games is partnering with Lotte Department Store and Olive Young to operate a series of pop-up stores under the name Riot Games Music & Worlds 26. The pop-ups will be themed around virtual artists based on LoL champions and the 2026 World Championship. The first pop-up will take place at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul, from Friday through Nov. 1, followed by a second at Trendpot by Olive Young N Seongsu from Oct. 29 to Nov. 8. [email protected]

North Texas Food Bank, Dallas College, and UNIQLO partner to support families through fall food distribution.

North Texas Food Bank, Dallas College, and UNIQLO partner to support families through fall food distribution. Drive through event will provide nutritious food and HEATTECH clothing to help neighbors prepare for the cooler season. Dallas, TX, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - As families across North Texas navigate rising household costs and the start of the fall season, the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), Dallas College and UNIQLO are joining forces to provide essential support. A public mobile food distribution will take place Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Dallas College Northlake, 5001 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX. The drive-through event will serve approximately 500 families, each receiving about 60 pounds of nutritious food, along with HEATTECH thermal clothing provided by UNIQLO. New data from Feeding America shows that Texas continues to lead the nation in the number of people facing food insecurity, with the Dallas-Fort Worth area ranking fourth among major U.S. metros. In NTFB's 12-county service area, nearly 800,000 neighbors, including 291,000 children, struggle to access enough food for their families. Dallas College has been a long-standing partner in addressing hunger since 2019, hosting regular mobile distributions and operating fourteen food pantries on its seven campuses and seven workforce centers that offer fresh produce, shelf-stable items and hygiene products to students and the surrounding community. "Students are more likely to persist when their basic needs are met," said Dr. Beatriz Joseph, Dallas College Vice Chancellor of Student Success. "Through our partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, we are ensuring students and families have reliable access to nutritious food. This event is one more way we're removing the barriers that can make it harder to focus on their education, work and future." UNIQLO volunteers will distribute HEATTECH thermal clothing as part of the company's Heart of LifeWear initiative, which supports individuals and families experiencing hardship through donations of essential clothing. Through Heart of LifeWear, UNIQLO will donate more than 76,000 HEATTECH items across the United States, including to communities facing food insecurity through local food bank partners. This work is made possible because of UNIQLO's national partnership with Feeding America(R). Just this year, UNIQLO will help provide 2.5 million meals* to families across the country. Feeding America is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, with a nationwide network of food banks, partner agencies, food pantries and meal programs helping to provide billions of meals to people facing hunger. "At UNIQLO, we believe clothing has the power to improve everyday life," said Jean Shein, UNIQLO U.S. Sustainability Director. "Through Heart of LifeWear, we are proud to partner with the NTFB and Dallas College to provide HEATTECH and other winter essentials to families across Dallas, helping them stay warm, comfortable, and supported throughout the season." No registration is required to attend the distribution, but participants must arrive in a vehicle. Food will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. While no ID is required, families will be asked to share their household size and zip code. Neighbors seeking food assistance can visit https://ntfb.org/its-programs/get-food-assistance/find-a-food-pantry/ to find a food pantry nearby that provides food and often other services, or they can find mobile food distributions across North Texas at https://ntfb.org/mobile-pantry/. Fast Retailing Updates Ad Choices Disclosures across four brands.

Fast Retailing Updates Ad Choices Disclosures across four brands. Fast Retailing Updates Ad Choices Disclosures Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. has updated the websites and selected mobile applications of UNIQLO, GU, Theory and Helmut Lang following a review by BBB National Programs' Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP). The changes address transparency and consumer choice requirements for online interest-based advertising (IBA) under the Digital Advertising Alliance's (DAA) self-regulatory principles. The review focused on whether consumers could readily identify when third parties collected data for interest-based advertising and access mechanisms to opt out of such data sharing. DAAP found that the brands' privacy policies contained much of the required information, but the disclosures were not sufficiently accessible or clearly organized. The case highlights a practical challenge for digital advertisers and retailers: publishing a privacy policy does not necessarily ensure that consumers can easily find information about advertising-related data collection or exercise their available choices. DAAP identifies disclosure gaps across retail websites and apps. DAAP initially reviewed the online properties of UNIQLO and GU as part of its routine monitoring program, observing data collection by third parties known to engage in interest-based advertising. It subsequently expanded its review to the Theory and Helmut Lang websites and the mobile applications operated by UNIQLO, GU and Theory. According to DAAP, all four brands' websites lacked appropriate enhanced notice for IBA. Consumers could find relevant information within privacy policies, but details were dispersed rather than consolidated in a clearly identified advertising disclosure section. The review also identified accessibility issues in the UNIQLO, GU and Theory mobile applications. The apps did not provide sufficiently prominent access to IBA disclosures and choice mechanisms in the locations contemplated by the DAA's Mobile Guidance. An infinite-scroll interface created an additional obstacle by making it difficult for users to reach disclosures and privacy links located at the bottom of the screen. These findings concern the accessibility and presentation of disclosures under an industry self-regulatory framework. They do not establish that every instance of third-party data collection was unlawful or that the companies violated a specific statute. What Fast Retailing changed. Fast Retailing worked with DAAP to review the digital properties of all four brands and implement changes intended to improve transparency and consumer choice. The brands also consolidated IBA information into dedicated "Ad Choices" sections. These sections explain interest-based advertising, include a statement of adherence to the DAA Principles, link to an industry-developed consumer choice mechanism and explain how consumers can withdraw consent. DAAP also recommended that UNIQLO and GU add links at the top of their privacy policies directing users to the relevant disclosures. The mobile changes varied by brand. UNIQLO and GU added links to IBA disclosures and consumer choice tools near the top of their mobile privacy policies, introduced "Ad Choices" within app settings and removed infinite scrolling. They also updated their iOS and Android app store listings with privacy policy links designed to improve access to the disclosures. Theory removed infinite scrolling, added "Ad Choices" to its app settings and incorporated links to DAA consumer choice tools in its mobile privacy policy. Helmut Lang does not offer a mobile application. Market landscape: privacy transparency in Digital Advertising. Interest-based advertising uses information about consumers' activities or interests to help select relevant advertising. For retailers operating across websites and mobile applications, third-party data collection can make privacy disclosures and opt-out mechanisms important parts of the customer experience. The Fast Retailing case illustrates why disclosure design matters alongside the underlying privacy policy. Footer links, clearly labeled sections and accessible in-app settings can make information easier to locate without requiring consumers to navigate lengthy policy documents. For advertising technology providers, publishers and advertisers, these changes also reinforce the importance of reviewing disclosure accessibility across devices and digital interfaces. Infinite scrolling, deeply nested settings and ambiguous privacy terminology can create practical barriers even when relevant information technically exists. Strategic outlook. The case demonstrates how industry self-regulatory monitoring can prompt changes to advertising transparency practices across multiple brands. For digital businesses, privacy compliance reviews should assess not only disclosure wording but also its visibility, placement and usability throughout the customer journey. Advertisers and agencies working with third-party audience data should verify that their own notices and choice mechanisms are accessible and consistent across websites and apps. Technology teams can support this work through interface testing, regular privacy-policy reviews and checks that consumer-choice links remain functional. Fast Retailing's response provides a concrete example of changes made following DAAP engagement, but the announcement does not quantify their effect on consumer behavior, advertising performance or data collection. Top insights. * Four brands addressed website disclosures: UNIQLO, GU, Theory and Helmut Lang added dedicated Ad Choices links. * Mobile access improved: UNIQLO, GU and Theory updated selected app interfaces and privacy disclosures. * Interface design mattered: Infinite scrolling was identified as an obstacle to accessing privacy information. * Choice mechanisms became more visible: The updated disclosures link to industry-developed consumer opt-out tools. * Self-regulation drove the review: DAAP assessed the digital properties against DAA principles and mobile guidance.
