College Board - Operations

This is a full-time term position that will last for 1.5 years from the start date.
College Board’s Operations division (~125 ppl) aims to be a world class digital assessment delivery and customer engagement organization that supports millions of students and thousands of test centers, annually. Operations is also leading the College Board’s exciting transformation to support delivery of digital assessments. The Customer Engagement department (~50 ppl) is a combination of teams that support our key constituents, including students, parents, educators, and our state partners representing approximately 2 million contacts per year. This integrated team serves as the organization’s ‘front line’ and represents the voice of the customer, partnering across the organization to help improve the overall customer experience.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced network engineer to join our Operations division. As a network engineer on our Operations team, you will collaborate closely with the Network Engineering team on Technology and other teams in Technology to manage critical requirements and help ensure the successful delivery of College Board’s digital assessments. Using your technical and operational expertise you will actively contribute to all aspects of planning and delivery as we implement short- and longer-term sustainable approaches to increase capacity for SAT weekend testing through a range of delivery models. This work includes leading the design, deployment, and support of network requirements and solutions, particularly but not exclusively for vendor managed sites including but not limited to large-scale, temporary environments such as hotels and conference centers.
As a part of the broader Operations team, you will also lend your expertise during critical test administration windows to support escalations, as well as assist in the development of clear and accurate test center administrator technical readiness materials and training.
Plan and Implement (50%):
Collaborate with Operations, Technology, and vendor teams to design, deploy, and support network infrastructure for large-scale assessment venues, including wireless LANs.
Provide subject matter expertise in network and security technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, and firewalls in a multi-vendor environment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet).
Analyze wireless deployment in hotel/conference centers and work with vendors to ensure proper RF channel and management, and capacity planning for optimal performance of wireless networks.
Coordinate troubleshooting issues related to wireless networks during SAT administrations.
Coordinate with multiple vendors to execute temporary wireless deployments in diverse environments, such as hotels and conference centers.
Share Knowledge and Support (50%):
Contribute technical knowledge to readiness communications, web content, and customer service resources to support smooth operations.
Review and provide content for customer service knowledge bases and training materials, enabling effective resolution of network-related issues.

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $144,000 to 157,000.College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary. Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles.
