Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences or a related field.
  • At least 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with mental illness and in substance abuse treatment.
  • Ability to transport clients in the community.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnostic and functional assessments approved by the clinical supervisor.
  • Provide respectful care and direct services to clients and residents.
  • Develop individualized emergency support plans in coordination with community emergency support services.
  • Teach and develop independent living skills, including relaxation, conversation skills, housekeeping, and budgeting.
  • Identify individuals prone to behavioral emergencies and assist in developing appropriate additional programming.
  • Educate clients about the symptoms, course, and treatment of their illness.
  • Implement service and behavior plans.
  • Collaborate with and educate family members and others involved in the client's treatment and welfare when appropriate.
  • Make culturally sensitive referrals and assist clients in accessing needed services.
  • Assist clients with psychiatric rehabilitation and obtaining and maintaining housing.
  • Help clients make and keep appointments and complete tasks required through the recovery process.
  • File legally required reports with Vulnerable Adults, the Ombudsman, and Child Protection.
  • Use crisis assessment tools for suicidal and aggressive behavior.
  • Help defuse and de-escalate potential behavioral emergencies and assist in developing additional programming for client needs.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Complete paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
  • Participate in professional growth, supervision, and appropriate professional development.
  • Maintain regular work hours to meet program needs as determined by the Program Director.
  • Support case management programs including Assertive Community Treatment, Targeted Case Management, Homeless Services, Community Treatment Team, and Waivered Services Case Management.
  • Support residential programs including Intensive Residential Treatment Services, Crisis Stabilization, and residential group homes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
