HPE tackles memory supply constraints with multiyear agreements and better forecasting

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is addressing persistent memory supply constraints through multiyear supplier agreements, alternative product configurations, and improved forecasting, CEO Antonio Neri said on a September earnings call. However, supply shortages limited HPE's ability to convert strong AI systems demand into revenue in Q3. To meet rising customer orders, HPE increased inventory to $11.8 billion by end of Q3. The company has signed multiyear supplier agreements to secure capacity, reducing lead times and improving backlog conversion. "Supply will continue to be constrained, which means we're going to continue to run into high backlog," Neri said. HPE expects Q4 revenue between $13.9 billion and $14.8 billion, up from Q3's $12.2 billion, driven by networking and cloud demand.

HPE shares up 120% as AI server orders hit $2.4B, vindicating Cramer's post-earnings optimism

Hewlett Packard Enterprise's shares have risen over 120% in the past year, positioning it alongside Super Micro and Dell as key AI server hardware providers. After volatile post-earnings trading in early September, Jim Cramer defended the stock, saying the quarter "wasn't all that bad". HPE's Q3 results showed 16.2% revenue growth and 75% networking revenue growth. The company raised its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to 34-37% and reported $2.4 billion in AI orders, up from Q2's $1.8 billion. However, profitability remains challenging. Networking operating profit margin fell to 22.4% from 25.1% previously. Management noted orders grew three to five times faster than revenue, potentially delaying recognition. Hedge fund interest increased significantly, with 85 funds holding stakes in Q2 versus 58 in Q1. Point72 Asset Management added a $120 million position.

HPE sinks 4% and Dell drops 3% as AI server stocks unwind two-day post-earnings surge

AI server stocks declined on Thursday, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise falling 4% and Dell dropping 3%, reversing two-day post-earnings gains. The selloff appears sector-specific rather than broad-based, as the iShares U.S. Technology ETF and Invesco QQQ Trust each fell less than 1%. Super Micro Computer largely avoided the retreat, declining just 0.9%. The stock trades at a 12x P/E ratio, well below peers, with buyers treating the dip as a buying opportunity. The pullback follows substantial year-to-date gains: HPE is up 137% whilst Dell has surged 317%. Both companies recently reported strong AI infrastructure quarters. HPE posted fiscal Q3 2026 non-GAAP EPS of $1.11 versus consensus of $0.93, with revenue climbing 32.7% year-over-year to $12.21 billion. The company raised its full-year guidance and free cash flow targets.

Dell raises AI server outlook to $74B as HPE posts record results

Dell Technologies and Hewlett Packard Enterprise both reported record quarterly results driven by surging AI server demand. Dell's fiscal Q2 revenue jumped 58% year-over-year to $46.97 billion, whilst adjusted earnings per share soared 203% to $7.04. AI-optimised server revenue doubled to $16.4 billion. The company raised its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $192 billion and now expects adjusted EPS of $25.50. HPE's fiscal Q3 revenue rose 34% to a record $12.21 billion. Adjusted EPS climbed to $1.11 from $0.44 a year earlier. Server revenue increased 35% to $6.8 billion, whilst networking revenue surged 75% to $2.9 billion. HPE raised its full-year revenue growth forecast to 34%-37% and adjusted EPS guidance to $3.75-$3.85.

HPE grants Oracle 4M shares at $0.01 each to lock in AI network revenue

Hewlett Packard Enterprise granted Oracle warrants to purchase over 4 million shares at one penny each, linking Oracle's data centre buildout to HPE's networking revenue. The arrangement functions as a capital expenditure subsidy, binding Oracle's infrastructure spending to HPE's equity valuation. HPE's stock fell roughly 5% following cautious supply chain commentary during its earnings call, despite networking revenue rising 75% and routing revenue jumping 270% year-over-year. The warrant block is valued near $200 million. The structure incentivises Oracle to direct volume through HPE's Juniper pipeline rather than alternative providers, effectively converting a major customer into a vested stakeholder. Heavy institutional ownership in both companies, including California State Teachers Retirement System and UBS AM, reinforces the strategic partnership.
