  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of professional customer service, cash handling, and/or financial services experience is required for Universal Banker I.
  • Clearly communicate in English and demonstrate proficient reading, writing, grammar, mathematics, interpersonal relations, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of bank forms and documents used to open new accounts and working knowledge of account maintenance.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of bank retail products and services and the operating policies and procedures affecting those products.
  • Understand loan requests, loan maintenance, lending policy, and loan types.
  • Learn and demonstrate understanding of home equity loans.
  • Demonstrate visual and auditory skills.
  • Be computer proficient with new equipment and technology.
  • Complete the applicable Universal Banker curriculum, pass required 30-, 60-, and 90-day reviews and the final proficiency test, and demonstrate proficiency before advancing to the next level.
  • Adhere to applicable procedures, policies, regulations, compliance requirements, risk-management practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry before performing Mortgage Loan Originator duties when required for Universal Banker III.
  • Complete required coursework and perform Notary Public duties when approved and required.
  • Work Monday through Saturday, including rotating Friday nights and Saturdays, according to branch needs.
Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers and prospective customers during teller transactions, new deposit account openings, consumer loan processes, and other financial service interactions.
  • Provide value-added insight and use a consultative approach to identify customer needs, explain applicable products and services, retain customers, deepen relationships, and generate new business.
  • Make timely referrals and introductions to team members for complex customer needs or products.
  • Act as a resource and mentor to less experienced Universal Bankers.
  • Perform operational duties delegated by the Branch Manager.
  • Promote the bank in the community through civic and community activities.
  • Coordinate work tasks with office personnel and other departments to support an efficient flow of information.
  • Report pertinent information, compile information, and provide data to appropriate bank personnel.
  • Respond to customer and bank personnel inquiries within established time frames and policies.
  • Support the branch and specialty departments in enhancing the customer experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • College education in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • An Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Dime Bank's Q1 net income rises to $4.8M as assets reach $1.1B

Dimeco Inc., the holding company for The Dime Bank, reported net income of $4.8 million for the first quarter of 2026, up $1.6 million from the same period last year. Total assets reached $1.1 billion as of 31st March, an increase of $40.2 million year-on-year. Total loans grew by $61.6 million to $845.6 million, whilst deposits increased by $47.3 million to $981.3 million. The company also announced dividends of 45 cents per share for the first quarter, representing a 7.1% increase. The Dime Bank operates nine branches across Lackawanna, Pike and Wayne counties.
