About the job

Requirements
  • Have 2–5 years of field or territory sales experience, ideally selling to farmers, ranchers, or agricultural businesses such as inputs, amendments, equipment, feed, or services.
  • Be credible with agricultural buyers and comfortable on farms, at co-op counters, and at county extension meetings.
  • Use a customer relationship management system with discipline and reliably complete documentation and follow-through, including application evidence and affidavits for sales.
  • Be able to explain a technical product simply and honestly, and know when to involve the technical team.
  • Use commercial judgment to negotiate flexible pricing toward a goal without giving the market away.
  • Be able to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing, ambiguous environment.
  • Have a valid driver's license and be able to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
  • Place all available Fort Lupton biochar into applications on schedule and build forward demand ahead of the production ramp.
  • Generate demand across growers and ranchers, co-ops, NRCS-funded projects, anaerobic digestion facilities, compost and soil-amendment blenders, and small-volume specialty buyers.
  • Plan and source biochar offtakes in new Charm geographies with the Charm Development team.
  • Maintain regular buyer touchpoints for live offtakes from signed agreement through application and results.
  • Ensure each tonne converts to verified carbon removal by securing purchase agreements and application affidavits and collecting evidence that meets carbon-registry requirements, including Isometric Biochar Storage in Soil Environments.
  • Help buyers fund adoption by guiding farmers through NRCS EQIP cost-share (practice codes 336/590) and state or water-district grant programs, and coordinating with Technical Service Providers and county extension.
  • Explain char specifications to customers using product data sheets and field guides, and relay customer needs to the materials science team.

  • Convert early adopters into references and repeat buyers.
  • Educate buyers on safe handling, including moisture management and dust control, and coordinate delivery scheduling and load logistics with plant operations.
  • Feed pricing, demand, channel, and objection data back to the biochar, sales, and MRV teams, and document the regional playbook for future representatives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of NRCS/EQIP cost-share programs or conservation practice standards, or experience as or with a Technical Service Provider.
  • An agronomy background or hands-on farming or ranching experience.
  • Experience selling soil amendments, compost, fertilizer, or other bulk agricultural products.
  • Familiarity with carbon markets, measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV), or sustainability reporting.
  • Experience with bulk material logistics such as trucking, spreading, or storage, or handling combustible bulk materials.
  • Spanish proficiency.

About the company

Charm Industrial captures carbon by turning agricultural residues into bio-oil through pyrolysis and then pumps the bio-oil deep underground where it solidifies, permanently storing CO2. This process uses agricultural waste as feedstock and creates a self-sustaining chemical reaction to convert biomass into a carbon-rich liquid, which is injected underground for long-term storage, reducing risks like wildfires, soil erosion, and land-use change. The company charges agricultural clients for converting their residues into bio-oil and storing it, offering end-to-end carbon capture and storage services. Unlike typical CCS firms that rely on industrial CO2 streams or dedicated geological projects, Charm Industrial focuses on readily available farm waste and provides a complete service from feedstock collection to underground sequestration. Its goal is to help customers cut their carbon footprints and contribute to lowering atmospheric CO2 levels over time.

What believers are saying

  • June 2026 JPMorganChase added a $20 million debt facility for Colorado expansion.
  • September 2026 Charm announced TD Bank, Capgemini, and Google's 2030 removals commitments.
  • Louisiana's 500,000-ton storage conversion expands capacity and reduces feedstock bottlenecks.

What critics are saying

  • September 2026 verification noted a missed CO2 and VOC wellhead test.
  • Charm still depends on a few whales: JPMorganChase, Google, TD Bank.
  • If Isometric tightens protocols or permitting stalls, Charm's Louisiana and Colorado scaling breaks.

What makes Charm Industrial unique

  • Charm Industrial owns bio-oil sequestration, not commodity carbon offsets.
  • June 2026 JPMorganChase deal bought 61,500 tons and doubled down on Charm.
  • Isometric verified Charm credits in 2026, giving buyers unusual measurement confidence.

JPMorgan buys 61,500 tons of carbon removal from Charm Industrial, provides $20M facility

Charm Industrial has secured a 61,500-tonne carbon removal deal with JPMorganChase, bringing the bank's total purchases from the company to 90,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. JPMorganChase has also provided a separate $20 million venture debt facility to support Charm's expansion. The San Francisco-based startup converts biomass into carbon-rich bio-oil and injects it underground for permanent storage. The new financing will help expand Charm's Colorado operations, including processing forest residues from wildfire mitigation projects. The deal represents one of the largest bilateral agreements for bio-oil carbon removal. The venture debt will support facility expansion at Charm's Fort Lupton site and create jobs for pyrolyser operators whilst addressing wildfire risks in the American West.
