Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project cost variances to support root cause analysis and process change orders.
  • Define and quantify potential change scope using internal project-team feedback, customer input, and/or Legal Contract Management input.
  • Prioritize requested changes based on their criticality to on-time project schedule execution.
  • Develop and use a standardized change management process and documentation.
  • Collaborate with project execution stakeholders, based on precontract review, to establish a clear baseline of sold scope and schedule and mitigate risk through identified opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized Change Management Process and centralized tool to capture project/program change logs for internal review and approval of change-order responses.
  • Collaborate with Legal Contracts Management to identify change-order opportunities based on commercial contract language and ensure the team is engaged and aligned on those opportunities.
  • Coordinate change-request estimating with Solution Development and prioritize change-order processing based on execution-team input and project-execution risk.
  • Identify and develop efficient change-communication channels so affected functions are informed of and accept changes.
  • Validate schedule and resource impacts with Project Scheduling and Capacity Planning, ensure accepted change orders are represented in project schedules, and communicate schedule impacts to the broader project team.

  • Produce change-order submission documentation and submit change-order paperwork for New Business Order Entry.
  • Evaluate internal and external change requests for risks to on-time and on-budget project implementation.

  • Own and drive adherence to a standardized Change Management Process.
  • Direct Business Unit leadership on evaluating change impacts and deciding whether to pursue them with customers.
  • Communicate approved change orders to the project team and notify project controlling of potential impacts to sales volume, invoicing, and cash flow.
  • Support development of documented change-order strategies with Sales, Solution Development, and Project Management, leveraging Sales and Project Management customer relationships for potentially contentious engagements.
  • Participate in Quality Gate reviews, including pre-flight reviews from QG1B through QG7, to identify potential change-order opportunities.
  • Participate in quote development and contract-language design to ensure solutions are clearly defined and changes are identifiable and enforceable.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to identify and support supplier-credit processing based on scope and schedule changes.
  • Own and drive implementation of Commodity Indexation and Hyper-Inflation processes, track contract baselines against indices, and facilitate change orders and requests for payment or customer refunds.
  • Train cross-functional teams on implemented change-management best practices.
  • Create a library of similar change orders across regions/programs and evaluate whether requests are project-specific or should be considered across the Business Unit/region.
  • Provide change-order summaries to Solution Development for consideration in future projects and product-specific work, and communicate systemic gaps for improvement through standard work, tools, or standards.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in project execution within the Material Handling Equipment industry is ideal.
