As the NPI Commodity Manager, you will lead and support the development, implementation, and management of global sourcing strategies to provide Boston Dynamics with optimal flexibility, quality, and supply assurance. You will be responsible for all phases of sourcing, which includes identification of cost-saving opportunities, creating competitive environments, as well as generating and negotiating contracts to ensure seamless availability of products to support company objectives. Every day, you will help us source, build, deliver, and maintain market-driven products that delight our customers, impress the public, and drive sales and growth. Day to day activities:
Design and implement an effective commodity based sourcing strategy that supports the company’s strategic business goals and future scaling requirements.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams, identify risks and cost opportunities while accelerating product availability and ensuring on-time delivery.
Lead supplier selections, execute RFPs, and influence new business award decisions
Negotiate contracts, pricing, MOQ’s and EOQ’s with vendors and contract manufacturers
Participate in establishing short-term and long-range planning and budget development
Conduct site assessments, audits, and oversee qualifications
Desired skills:
Experience creating and maintaining an efficient global supply chain for complicated electronic components, PCBA’s and high level electronic assemblies
Seasoned understanding of Printed Circuit Board fabrication and assembly process
Ability to understand risks, expectations, and build effective relationships needed to create a disciplined development process
Experience negotiating, implementing and managing kanban or JIT style agreements and systems
Ability to drive results within a cross-functional, highly collaborative, and fast-paced environment
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
