Requirements
  • A PhD in statistics/ biostatistics, public health, population health, bioinformatics, computer science, or another appropriate field, or an MD (or MD, MPH) with experience working with big data
  • Familiar with R and one or more other programming languages, e.g., Python, Perl, C++, JAVA, or MATLAB
  • Strong scientific writing skills, demonstrated by at least two first-author and at least four co-author publications
  • The ability of independent learning and thinking in a highly dynamic and decentralized environment, as well as being a team player to contribute to many ongoing collaborative projects
Responsibilities
  • The NIH-funded studies to develop prediction models for stroke using electronic health record data enriched with social determinants of health from multiple institutions.
  • Author publications resulting from the research
  • Mentored opportunities to obtain independent grant support in later years
  • Collaborate with the Department of Neurology and other researchers; engage in on-site presentations and meetings at Hershey Medical Center/Penn State College of Medicine; work includes hybrid work opportunities
