- Maintain an accurate hospital census.
- Transfer and discharge patients.
- Maintain and update the bed-tracking system.
- Manage hospital beds, make assignments, recommend intra-hospital transfers as necessary, and ensure that patients are placed appropriately.
- Work closely with the admitting department nurse to ensure optimal patient flow.
- Maintain the departmental bed control manual in accordance with medical protocols and with guidance from administration, attending physicians, and infection control.
- Ensure that the census in the hospital computer system is accurate.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred.
- Previous experience working in the medical field is preferred.
