Payroll Coordinator
About the job
- A minimum of a high school education is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- At least 1–5 years of related payroll experience is required.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and pivot tables, are required for payroll reconciliation.
- Basic understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements is required.
- Experience with annual employee tax reporting is required.
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now payroll and timekeeping, including employee pay data maintenance, tax jurisdiction setup, garnishments, deductions, and quarter-end/year-end processing, is preferred.
- The role requires maintaining confidentiality of sensitive payroll data.
- The role requires sitting for long periods, typing with repetitive hand motions, and extended periods looking at a computer screen; lifting, bending, reaching, and stooping are limited.
- Process weekly payroll accurately and ensure employees are paid on time.
- Run and review payroll reports in ADP Workforce Now, resolve discrepancies, and submit final payroll by established deadlines.
- Process off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, voids, and final pay for separated employees.
- Maintain employee payroll records in ADP Workforce Now, including new-hire setup, direct deposit, tax withholding, and paid-time-off accruals.
- Generate and reconcile payroll reports, including payroll registers, deduction reports, 401(k) reports, and general ledger reports.
- Assist with quarter-end and year-end processes, including W-2 review and tax reconciliations.
- Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain payroll information.
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures.
- Communicate with the branch administrator when an employee separates from the company.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with comfort handling sensitive data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A motivated, professional, and self-starter attitude.
