Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 10 years of relevant construction-field experience serving as a construction representative or inspector is required.
  • Full proficiency using a project management information system such as e-Builder, Buzzsaw, FNI Manager, or Site Manager is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure it complies with plans and specifications.
  • Oversee construction record-keeping activities by recommending contractor payments, reviewing proposed consultant-submitted change orders, and preparing daily reports.
  • Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide the project manager or construction manager with information about the need for change orders, extra work, and supplemental agreements.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and other employees.
  • Read plans and specifications to ensure construction complies with them.
  • Provide guidance to other construction representatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Construction Manager in Training certification is preferred.
  • Department of Transportation technical certifications are preferred.
  • ACI I certification is preferred.
  • American Public Works Association certification is preferred.
  • Level I NICET certification is preferred.
  • Other applicable certifications are preferred.
