Requirements
  • Professional work, academic, or personal-project experience with one or more of PHP, .NET C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, or React; samples are required for academic and personal projects.
  • Comfort working in Linux environments, including basic command-line use, files, and permissions, or willingness to learn quickly.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; four years of software-engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for the degree.
  • Compliance with DOD 8570.01 with a minimum certification of IAM Level I, such as CAP, GSLC, or Security+.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI with FSP security clearance is required.
Responsibilities
  • Implement well-defined features and bug fixes with guidance using tickets, acceptance criteria, and code-review support.
  • Learn the team’s codebase, development workflow, and deployment process while contributing to an enterprise web-services platform.
  • Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting web applications in AWS by monitoring basic health, reviewing logs, and escalating issues when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to relational databases such as MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle and basic SQL concepts.
  • Exposure to web servers or application servers such as Nginx, Apache, or Tomcat.
  • Interest in troubleshooting and debugging, including reproducing issues, reading logs, and asking questions.
  • Ability to work on a team, accept feedback, and communicate status clearly.
  • Ability to learn independently, follow documentation, and complete assigned tasks with support.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to learn and grow as a software engineer through mentorship and code reviews.
  • Exposure to AWS or Azure concepts, including compute, storage, and networking.
  • Exposure to scripting with PowerShell or Python.
  • Interest in working in an Agile environment, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
