- The candidate must meet the minimum job qualifications for Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist and be able to competently function in one of those roles.
- A master's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology is required.
- Successful completion of required affiliations is required.
- The role requires the ability to sit for up to ninety minutes at a time and stand for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively.
- The role requires the ability to manipulate machine dials, lift and move patients up to 200 pounds, and push or pull patients weighing up to 200 pounds.
- The role requires the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, and reach above shoulder level.
- The role requires tactile sensation for assessing muscle spasms, texture, and skin temperature, as well as normal hearing and general vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
- Direct physical therapy, occupational therapy, and, when applicable, speech-language pathology services at the facility by developing strategic objectives, providing services, and directing staff.
- Interact with physicians regarding problem patients and new programs while actively promoting the practice.
- Review monthly referral and marketing reports and compile quarterly reviews.
- Orient new therapists to procedures.
- Teach new techniques and share clinical knowledge to improve patient care.
- Review coverage for staff vacations, emergencies, and periods of increased patient volume.
- Offer assistance to regional directors when patient census is low.
- Interact with private practitioners to develop ideas that improve practice efficiency.
- Work with clinical staff to develop new clinical programs.
- Review equipment needs and help develop the acquisition budget.
- Help develop the practice budget with other managers to support fiscally responsible management.
- Propose policies for management of the practice.
- Adjust work hours as needed to accommodate fluctuations in patient volume.
- Review weekly statistics for accuracy and review timesheets in Kronos.
- Check schedules by Thursday at noon for open evaluation slots during the following week.
- Participate in at least one community event and one speaking engagement each year to promote physical therapy and the outpatient facility network.
- Facilitate bi-monthly facility staff meetings, complete notes, and send them to regional directors.
