Requirements
  • A completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Business Engineering, or a comparable technically oriented field.
  • Strong technical decision-making, a high degree of personal accountability, and a hands-on approach; ability to present technical matters in a decision-oriented way to management, business units, IT, Security, Procurement, and external partners.
  • Several years of substantial professional experience in Enterprise Architecture, cloud architecture, or strategic IT architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Architecture Management methods and tools, particularly TOGAF and LeanIX or comparable frameworks and repository approaches.
  • Practical knowledge of at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud), as well as cloud operating models, landing zones, and hybrid architectures.
  • Experience developing and evaluating complex application, data, integration, and technology architectures.
  • Experience technically steering cloud migrations and IT transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of total cost of ownership, licensing, and cost assessments for IT and cloud architectures, and of technical evaluation of sourcing and vendor decisions.
  • Business-fluent German and English, spoken and written.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and professionalize Enterprise Architecture Management processes, methods, standards, and decision paths globally.
  • Develop and maintain target architectures for applications, data, integration, technology, and cloud.
  • Define and enforce architecture principles, technical standards, and governance requirements for cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Evaluate and prioritize architecture options considering dependencies, risks, costs, security, and long-term operability.
  • Moderate and provide subject-matter leadership for complex architecture decisions up to management level.
  • Define and evolve cloud architectures for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and hybrid scenarios.
  • Steer and technically support complex cloud migrations and modernization programs from target architecture through implementation.
  • Evaluate cloud platforms and services for scalability, security, compliance, data residency, integration capability, redundancy, and exit capability.
  • Define and evolve cloud governance, landing zones, operating models, and technical and security standards.
  • Assess new technologies and produce concrete recommendations for future IT architecture.
  • Create and evaluate architecture options, including total cost of ownership, licensing models, cloud consumption, operating costs, and follow-on costs.
  • Evaluate make-or-buy, platform, and sourcing decisions from technical and economic perspectives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost and complexity through standardization, consolidation, automation, and decommissioning.
  • Technically evaluate cloud and IT providers and their platform, contract, and operating models.
  • Evaluate and manage technical risks arising from vendor lock-in, licensing dependencies, integration effort, and data residency.
  • Analyze existing IT and architecture structures and identify concrete opportunities for optimization.
  • Define architecture processes and standards for use in projects.
  • Work actively in complex transformation and implementation projects, from architecture decisions through technical implementation.
  • Resolve conflicts between business requirements, technology, security, operations, cost, and standardization.
  • Ensure fast, robust, technically grounded decisions rather than purely conceptual architecture work.

About the company

Bosch Home Comfort makes heating, cooling and hot-water equipment for homes, commercial buildings and industrial users. Its portfolio combines electric heat pumps with gas-fired boilers and hybrid systems, giving customers different ways to control building temperatures and supply hot water. The business sells equipment through its brands' sales networks, with products adapted to regional building needs and energy requirements. Its inverter-driven heat pumps adjust compressor output to match demand rather than running constantly at full power. The Bosch business unit was formed through the merger of Bosch and Buderus heating activities in 2004 and is headquartered in Wetzlar, Germany.

What believers are saying

  • Heat-pump researchers gain human-factors experience: Bosch's Wernau team tests how concealed fans change perceived noise.
  • Retrofits expand the addressable market: Bosch's IDS Ultra fits most existing air-to-air systems.
  • Investment funds technical work: February 2026 reporting puts Bosch Home Comfort's 2025 investment near €200 million.

What critics are saying

  • Demand remains cyclical: Bosch's February 2026 report says Germany's heating market shrank 14% in 2025.
  • Sales coordination stays fragmented: Bosch retains separate brand sales contacts and discount schemes.
  • Facilities work extends beyond normal shifts: Bosch's advertised Facility Engineer role requires responding to off-shift emergencies.

What makes Bosch Home Comfort unique

  • Regional identities stay distinct: Bosch retains Buderus and licenses the Hitachi and YORK names for its HVAC portfolio.
  • Acoustics gets specialized testing: Bosch's Wernau heat-pump laboratory measures noise with 19 microphones.
  • Cold-climate heating reaches below freezing: Bosch's IDS Ultra maintains full heating capacity at 5°F.
