  • Strong understanding of enterprise customer transformation and the factors that enable organisations to adopt and scale technology successfully.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to connect market opportunity with investment and execution choices.
  • Experience leading complex transformation across organisational boundaries and influencing senior leaders without relying on direct authority.
  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to turn complex market and business information into clear choices and action.
  • Deep executive presence and credibility with senior customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to create simple, compelling strategic narratives.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand market and the economic, technology and industry forces shaping customer investment.
  • Strong AI and technology fluency, particularly an understanding of how AI is changing customer business models, organisational transformation and competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Define the ANZ customer growth agenda, identifying customers, industries, markets and opportunities where focused intervention can create disproportionate growth.
  • Use customer and market insight to identify emerging opportunities and structural barriers to growth.
  • Work with segment and industry leaders to translate growth opportunities into specific customer strategies and execution plans.
  • Establish a systematic approach to accelerating priority customers and opportunities, ensuring leadership attention, resources and capabilities are brought together.
  • Partner with sales, technical, partner, marketing and operational teams to remove obstacles that prevent customers from moving from experimentation to scaled transformation.
  • Bring the Office of the President to bear on important customer growth opportunities where executive sponsorship can materially change the outcome.
  • Lead the development and ongoing stewardship of the ANZ strategy, ensuring a clear connection between market opportunity, customer priorities, investment choices and execution.
  • Bring an outside-in perspective through customer, competitor, partner, industry and macroeconomic insight.
  • Work with the ANZ Senior Leadership Team to identify strategic choices and growth plays where ANZ will differentiate and lead.
  • Translate strategic choices into priorities, investment decisions, ownership and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide agreed strategic choices and priority growth plays as the formal starting input to the annual planning process led by Business and Sales Operations.
  • Maintain a strategic narrative connecting ANZ's ambition with the changes needed in the business to deliver it.
  • Own the integrated ANZ transformation roadmap required to deliver the growth strategy.
  • Translate strategic priorities into enterprise-wide transformation initiatives with executive sponsorship, named Senior Leadership Team owners accountable for delivery, milestones and measures tracked within the ANZ rhythm of business.
  • Drive transformation across organisational boundaries, bringing together teams that do not directly report to the role.
  • Identify structural, process, capability and operating-model barriers to growth and mobilise the organisation to address them.
  • Leverage internal AI use cases across Microsoft's ways of working and use that experience to strengthen customer transformation conversations.
  • Assess whether the transformation portfolio is producing intended customer and market outcomes, and escalate recommended corrective action to the President where it is not.
  • Bring evidence-based stop, start and accelerate recommendations on the growth and transformation portfolio to the President and Senior Leadership Team for decision.
  • Own the front end of the strategy-to-execution chain (insight, opportunity, strategic choice and investment case), and agree a clear hand-off into the operating plan with Business and Sales Operations.
  • Connect customer insight, market intelligence and business performance to leadership decision-making.
  • Define outcome measures for President-sponsored growth plays, agree them with Business and Sales Operations and incorporate them into the ANZ scorecard as the single source of performance truth.
  • Identify cross-segment or cross-industry opportunities that individual teams may not see when operating independently.
  • Work with Finance, Sales Excellence and Operations, Marketing and the field to ensure resources follow the areas of greatest strategic opportunity.
  • Work with the ANZ President and leadership team to identify where executive engagement can unlock strategic customer relationships and transformation opportunities.
  • Help shape the President's engagement with priority customers, partners and market influencers around the strategic growth agenda.
  • Ensure insights from executive customer conversations feed back into the ANZ strategy and transformation plan.
  • Support strategic customer and partner engagements where a whole-of-Microsoft perspective or cross-business intervention is required.
  • Build an understanding of issues occupying CEOs and boards across Australia and New Zealand and translate these into opportunities for Microsoft to create greater customer value.
  • Act as a strategic adviser to the ANZ President on growth, market opportunity, customer priorities and transformation.
  • Lead through influence across a highly matrixed organisation, creating alignment around the most important priorities.
  • Challenge activities or investments that are not aligned with the strategy.
  • Build coalitions across ANZ, Asia and corporate teams to accelerate outcomes that cannot be delivered locally alone.
  • Help build greater strategic, commercial and transformation capability across the broader leadership community.

Xbox tests cloud playtime packs from $4 for 10 hours, even for games you own

Microsoft has begun rolling out pay-as-you-go Cloud Playtime packs to Xbox Insiders, letting non-subscribers stream games they already own. Buyers must own a cloud-playable game or, for select games, use free-to-play access. Introductory prices are $4 for 10 hours, $8 for 25 hours, and $12 for 50 hours. That works out to about $0.40, $0.32, and $0.24 an hour. Purchased time stays available until used. The packs follow Microsoft's September decision to sharply limit the streaming catalogue for Game Pass subscribers. Unlike Game Pass, which includes a few monthly streaming hours, the packs come on top of the cost of buying the game.

Microsoft stock turned $10K into $92K in 10 years, but fell 20% or more four times

Microsoft stock turned $10,000 into $92,451 over the past ten years, before dividends. The same sum in the S&P 500 grew to $35,968. Holding the shares took nerve. The stock fell 20% or more four times, and two of those drops exceeded 30%. The deepest fall ran from November 2021 to November 2022, when the stock lost 37.6% while the S&P 500 lost 20.8%. It took until June 2023 to close above the old high. The latest decline began on October 28, 2025, and bottomed on June 25, 2026, down 34.9%. Revenue still grew in both falls, and operating margins held steady. Anyone who sold at the November 2022 low missed a 148.2% rise since. The stock now sits 2.1% below its October 13, 2026 high.

Tokenized stock trading surges overseas to $11.31B on Robinhood Chain as Goldman, Microsoft object in US

Tokenized stock trading is growing overseas while major US companies resist it at home, according to Bitwise Asset Management's latest quarterly report. On Robinhood Chain, tokenized stock volume rose from $526 million in July to $2.21 billion in August, then to $11.31 billion in September. Tokenized equities were also the fastest-growing category on Solana. Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Caterpillar, McDonald's, Western Digital, and Alphabet have objected to tokenized versions of their shares trading on OKXICE, a venue launched by crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange. Sixteen companies have now objected. The US Securities and Exchange Commission's innovation exemption lets companies opt out. OKXICE co-chairman Andrew Cuomo said many companies would "wait and see" before taking part.

Volkswagen builds AV data flywheel with NVIDIA, Microsoft, Voxel51, cutting test drives by up to 90%

Porsche, Volkswagen Group brands, and CARIAD are building a shared data flywheel for autonomous vehicle development, they announced at NVIDIA GTC Berlin on October 21, 2026. Porsche leads the initial rollout with NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Voxel51. The Volkswagen Group fleet generates data equivalent to 11,000 average drivers per day. Voxel51 supplies the data platform, NVIDIA provides simulation and data generation tools, and Microsoft Azure provides cloud infrastructure. The system turns raw driving logs into training and simulation inputs, and rebuilds real drives for virtual testing of driving software. The partners expect to cut repeated physical test drives by up to 90% and shorten AI regression test cycles by up to 85%.

Citi's Radke: AI splits software into winners like Microsoft and losers like Adobe

Citi's Tyler Radke says AI is splitting software into winners and losers. Radke, co-head of US software equity research, told Bloomberg Television that AI is lifting growth at Microsoft, Palantir, and Snowflake. He expects Microsoft's revenue growth to top 20%, up from 18% in the quarter ended June 30. Office costs under $100 a month and bundles security and Copilot, while rivals charge hundreds of dollars, leaving room to raise prices. Adobe and smaller application vendors face pressure as IT budgets shift to AI, he said. Salesforce agreed to buy Braze for $47.50 per share in cash. Radke questions whether Salesforce can speed up organic growth after half a dozen large deals. If financing stays costly, he expects scale to decide who survives.
