Requirements
  • Physician (MD/DO) with over 5 years of post-residency experience. Must be board certified in palliative medicine.
  • Extensive experience in palliative care, particularly within an oncology setting. Demonstrated high-quality clinical practice and patient care skills.
  • Proven experience in project or program development and management. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex medical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of initiatives that drive value and improve patient outcomes.
  • Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and needs.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic input to support the overall direction and growth of the Cancer Center. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement initiatives that enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Assist in overseeing the quality of care services, ensuring adherence to best practices and continuous improvement. Contribute to the development of quality metrics and monitor outcomes to ensure high standards of care.
  • Serve as a thought leader in palliative care and cancer support, contributing to the development of clinical guidelines, protocols, and educational materials. Stay informed about industry trends and innovations.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Cancer Center. Identify opportunities for enhancement and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide specialized palliative care to cancer patients, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care plans.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, and families, to ensure integrated and patient-centered care.
  • Develop and deliver educational sessions for healthcare professionals and staff on palliative care best practices and new developments.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess program performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions. Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the Cancer Center at conferences, seminars, and industry events, fostering connections and sharing expertise in palliative care.
  • Provide clinical oversight and supervision to other Cancer Center clinicians, when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the mission and goals of the Cancer Center.
