Here’s what you’ll be doing:
The Security Engineering team has oversight of cloud and platform security and provides engineering guidance for the Security Operations Center (SOC) at SB. This role will work closely with the SOC and DevOps teams to ensure the security of the organisation’s cloud infrastructure, internal developer platform, and CI/CD pipeline.
Sitting within the broader Security Operations Team, you’ll be reporting into Jayne (Security Engineering Lead). The award-winning InfoSec team pride themselves on their combined effort and unity. Not only that, but you’ll be joining one of the most gender diverse teams in your field.
As our Security Engineer you’ll:
- build and guide the SOC tooling (Splunk, Darktrace, Crowdstrike)
- assist the SOC to design and build use cases for incident response and threat hunting
- work with DevOps teams to secure and harden the cloud infrastructure, internal developer platform, and CI/CD pipeline
- engineer orchestration and automation solutions to help secure the organisation’s technology estate, improve business processes, and simplify security operations
- participate in security-focused sessions (presentations, tabletops, and CTFs)
- proactively suggest improvements to the organisation’s security operations ways of working
We’re looking for someone who is:
- working with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform or AWS Cloudformation or has worked in a SOC, Application Security, or other technical security role
- knowledgeable in information/cyber security and engineering
- working with secure cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- able to do scripting in languages such as bash, go, python, and PowerShell
- hands-on with SIEM or other centralised logging concepts and technologies such as Elastic SIEM, Splunk, Logrhythm, and Exabeam, including log ingestion and the creation of use cases (Splunk preferred)
- knowledgeable of securing a range of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, macOS)
