Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing facility or related field is required.
  • Technical schooling and/or certifications in electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, programmable logic controllers, and pneumatics are preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of machinery, including extruders, dies, air rings, cooling systems, winders, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics, and associated equipment is required.
  • The ability to interpret prints, schematics, and assembly drawings is required.
  • High proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective repair solutions is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with preventive maintenance strategies, equipment servicing, and repair techniques are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure are required.
  • Organizational and time management skills are required to prioritize tasks and meet maintenance schedules.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations and best practices in an industrial manufacturing setting are required.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders is required.
  • Computer literacy for maintenance tracking and reporting is required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, and equipment servicing to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on blown film machinery, including extruders, dies, air rings, cooling systems, winders, and associated equipment.
  • Collaborate with lead operators and production teams to identify and address equipment issues or performance concerns.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs, installations, or equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, repair logs, and inventory management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and disposal of materials.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in maintenance technology and equipment, and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Novolex names new chief commercial transformation and strategy officer. Dan Debicella will work alongside Chuck Whittington, Novolex's chief transformation officer, who is due to retire. Packaging group Novolex has appointed Dan Debicella as chief commercial transformation and strategy officer. He will oversee the company's group-wide growth plan, help advance its commercial agenda and support integration work. Debicella will work alongside Chuck Whittington, Novolex's chief transformation officer, who is due to retire at the end of the year after more than 33 years at the company. Whittington will stay on during the handover period to support continuity in integration efforts. According to the company, Debicella will work with teams across the organisation to reinforce commercial functions and introduce more uniform sales processes, aiming to "accelerate" growth. Novolex CEO and chairman Stan Bikulege said: "Dan is a proven transformation leader who delivers measurable results. "He has strengthened commercial execution and scaled performance across multiple companies. He will sharpen our commercial capabilities and help us move faster, execute better and deliver stronger outcomes for our customers, employees and stakeholders." Debicella has more than 25 years of experience in transformation and growth roles in several industries. Most recently, he was president of the Graphics Solutions Division at SGS & Co.
