Requirements
  • Must be able to work the weekend shift from Friday through Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will be paid for 40 hours.
  • Preferably have an associate degree in Machine Tool Technology, a high school diploma or GED, and evidence of relevant or significant work experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of computer numerical control experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable in basic shop mathematics, including trigonometry and the Pythagorean theorem.
  • Must be able to interpret and edit computer numerical control programming.
  • Must be knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, including identifiers, symbols, and inspection methods.
  • Must know basic rigging principles, crane operation, crane and hoist inspection, and safe practices.
  • Must be able to plan and execute highly complex work to precision tolerances, allowances, and finishes.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, tool prints, and sketches.
  • Must be able to work without supervision.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a drug screen and fitness-for-duty test when applicable.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to operate tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms during the work shift.
  • Must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Must use required personal protective equipment in the indoor manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate multiple computer numerical control machine tools in a low-volume, high-mix job-shop environment.
  • Take responsibility for all process phases from the first cut through the last completed piece while following safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Perform machine-tool setup within standard route time.
  • Operate multiple machine tools simultaneously.
  • Achieve productivity above 90% based on product cycle time.
  • Navigate FANUC controls, including wear and geometry pages, to ensure product conformance.
  • Troubleshoot problems and return machine tools to production quickly.
  • Use the Renishaw probing system and perform simple Easy Setting functions.
  • Set up and operate a coordinate measuring machine.
  • Inspect products against engineering blueprints using various gauges.
  • Complete and sign off first article inspections.
  • Enter statistical process control data and adjust the process based on data analysis.
  • Perform scheduled total productive maintenance inspections and complete the associated checklist.
  • Maintain 5S requirements in the designated work cell and perform daily 5S activities.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities, including SMED, Kaizen, and fixture design.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Use written and oral communication, read and interpret data and documents, analyze and solve problems, apply mathematics and mathematical reasoning, interpret situations, learn and apply new skills, and interact with employees, customers, and vendors.

The stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 35.1, well above the S&P 500's 24.3. Price-to-sales and price-to-operating-cash-flow multiples also exceed market averages at 3.7 and 22.3 respectively. Revenue has grown 10.2% annually over three years, outpacing the S&P 500's 5.9%. The 12-month backlog rose 11% whilst the multi-year backlog jumped 42%. Debt stands at a manageable 14.7% of market value. Operating cash flow reached approximately $2 billion over the past twelve months.

Forsee Power and Wabtec team up to electrify locomotives with advanced battery tech

Forsee Power, a smart battery systems specialist, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wabtec to integrate advanced battery systems into battery-electric locomotive platforms. Wabtec, which unveiled the world's first battery-electric freight locomotive in 2021, will collaborate with Forsee Power to enhance performance and reliability whilst optimising costs. Forsee Power's PULSE PLUS RAIL battery system, built on Toshiba's latest-generation LTO cells, offers up to 20 years lifespan, high-power output and voltage range up to 1,500 VDC.
