Requirements

At least one year of experience in a healthcare-related business development or outreach role.
A current RN or LPN license specific to the state(s) assigned; MSW, LCSW, PT, PTA, OT, OTA, SLP, and PA licenses may be considered in some cases.
Reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and liability insurance are required.
The role requires travel 50% or more within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

Educate health care professionals, patients, and families about home care services.
Develop and maintain relationships with key referral sources, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and physician offices, to generate leads.
Coordinate patient admissions with the team, including obtaining all required documentation to complete the referral-to-admission process.
Conduct on-site visits to assess patient needs and identify barriers to care.
Keep accurate records of patient interactions and referrals.
Achieve admissions, product, and payor-mix goals.
Meet short- and long-term target account goals.
Document the minimum expected number of daily sales calls in the customer relationship management system, including pre- and post-call notes.
Maintain a complete, up-to-date record of targeted referral sources in the territory in the customer relationship management system.
Attend community events to promote Amedisys.
Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
Previous outside sales or business development experience in the healthcare industry is ideal, including cold calling in pharmaceuticals, medical device sales, hospital, home health, hospice, or long-term care.
