Requirements
  • Be a member in good standing of the OIIQ.
  • Have completed and validated official Expanded Role training.
  • Have at least 2 years of recent critical-care experience in emergency or intensive care.
  • Demonstrate resilience, strong stress management in an isolated setting, advanced clinical autonomy, and respect for Indigenous communities.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct complete clinical assessments, make nursing diagnoses, and provide required treatment to dispensary clients according to current Expanded Role protocols.
  • Manage medical emergencies and stabilize critically ill patients while awaiting medical evacuation when needed.
  • Provide community health, preventive, and primary care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients.
  • Collaborate with remote physicians by telephone and local support teams.
