Responsibilities
Assemble, connect, and construct pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Prepare the ground and excavate trenches for pipes.
Align pipes and seal joints with cement or glue.
Direct trench activities to ensure pipes are laid within the designed vertical and horizontal tolerances using levels or lasers.
Align and position pipes for welding, cementing, or sealing with glue.
Monitor pipe-bedding backfill to ensure proper haunch support.
Assist with lot servicing and perform other duties as required by the Foreman.
Install and repair sanitary and storm-water sewer structures and pipe systems.
Promote and follow the company safety program, and encourage employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Reporting to the Foreman, the Pipelayer is responsible for assembling, connecting and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue.

Monitors backfill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support.
