Requirements
  • Attend or graduate from an accredited practical nurse/LPN program.
  • Maintain an active Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse license in good standing in South Carolina or a compact state.
  • Obtain and maintain current CPR certification, specifically American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification.
  • Have six months of patient care experience.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of the nursing field and skilled nursing facility practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Implement and interpret clinical services programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform competently in direct nursing care, nursing leadership, patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies, the Code of Conduct, and required compliance training.
  • Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy.
  • Lift and carry up to 35 pounds and push or pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Work scheduled hours, including weekends, holidays, and occasional extended or temporary assignments.
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance, concentration, reasoning, and sound judgment.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact and provide services that support their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Assign duties to certified nursing assistants, instruct them, and provide clinical supervision.
  • Chart patient care appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
  • Assist with patient evacuation when necessary.
  • Work throughout the department and facility and collaborate with patients, care team members, visitors, vendors, and government personnel.
  • Participate in continuing education programs.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with care team members and other stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of geriatric nursing experience is preferred.
