Rimes appoints former FINRA executive Tigran Khrimian as CTO.

Rimes appoints former FINRA executive Tigran Khrimian as CTO. 2026-10-14 07:15:28 Key takeaways. * Rimes appointed Tigran Khrimian, former FINRA Chief Technology Engineering Officer, as chief technology officer. * Khrimian brings more than two decades of FINRA experience including work on cloud transformation and governance for generative AI. * Rimes is migrating platform capabilities onto Databricks to build scalable architecture for data, workflow, and AI services. Rimes appointed Tigran Khrimian as chief technology officer, tasking the former FINRA technology executive with platform transformation, engineering modernization, and AI enablement. The hire addresses the investment data provider's migration of platform capabilities onto Databricks and pursuit of unified architecture for data and workflows used by asset owners, managers, and servicers. Khrimian spent more than two decades at FINRA, most recently as Chief Technology Engineering Officer, where he worked on technology strategy, cloud transformation, and governance for generative AI, including contributions to building the U.S. Consolidated Audit Trail. Khrimian brings FINRA infrastructure experience to platform overhaul. Khrimian served as Chief Technology Engineering Officer at FINRA for more than two decades. The company states he worked on technology strategy, engineering modernization, cloud and data transformation, and governance for generative AI during his tenure. He played a role in building the U.S. Consolidated Audit Trail, a large market surveillance system that aggregates order and trade information across U.S. equity and options markets. Rimes says the CTO will help migrate platform capabilities to Databricks and build a more scalable architecture for future data, workflow, and AI services. The role encompasses data engineering, cloud operations, customer migration, and governance. Rimes says its services support investment decisions representing more than $75 trillion in assets under management annually. The figure describes client investment activity connected to its data and intelligence network, rather than assets held by Rimes. Rimes migrates platform capabilities to Databricks for unified architecture. Rimes is moving platform capabilities onto Databricks to align data management, analytics, and AI workloads. The company states a common cloud environment can make it easier to manage large datasets and develop new analytical tools. The migration aims to improve architecture while maintaining daily reporting and investment operations. Rimes previously launched its Data Lakehouse Copilot, designed to let users query ETF and ESG data with natural-language prompts. The company's new CTO will show how that product fits into a broader platform strategy, including safeguards that prevent an AI interface from exposing data beyond a client's rights or presenting generated answers without clear sources. The appointment follows the arrival of CEO Vijay Mayadas, whose mandate has been described as transforming Rimes into an intelligence fabric for the investment industry. Mayadas' appointment emphasized growth, AI, and investment data infrastructure. AI integration and data governance shape investment platform strategy. The investment industry debates how AI changes the economics of data access. Firms want to apply their own models to licensed market and research data, while providers introduce new contracts and technical access controls. Substantive Research found AI tool spending rising even as research budgets stay nearly flat, and data licensing restrictions can constrain AI adoption. Asset managers rely on benchmark data, holdings, performance calculations, corporate actions, and operational records that originate in multiple formats and arrive on different schedules. A platform that can normalize and distribute those inputs can reduce manual reconciliation, but underlying data dependencies remain fragmented. A migration must improve architecture without disrupting daily reporting and investment operations. For clients, a platform migration is valuable if it makes data easier to access, validate, and distribute without forcing firms to rebuild their own downstream systems. Rimes must demonstrate that the new architecture can handle data volumes, complex benchmarks, and client-specific workflows with predictable availability. Faq. What experience does Tigran Khrimian bring to Rimes? Tigran Khrimian served as Chief Technology Engineering Officer at FINRA for more than two decades, where he worked on technology strategy, engineering modernization, cloud and data transformation, and governance for generative AI. He also played a role in building the U.S. Consolidated Audit Trail, a large market surveillance system that aggregates order and trade information across U.S. equity and options markets. What platform changes is Rimes implementing under the new CTO? Rimes is migrating platform capabilities onto Databricks to build a more scalable architecture for data, workflow, and AI services. The company aims to create a unified architecture for data and workflows used by asset owners, managers, and servicers while maintaining daily reporting and investment operations. Rimes launches Intelligence Fabric to unify $75T in investment data and AI workflows

Rimes has launched the Intelligence Fabric for Capital Markets, a platform designed to unify investment data and AI for institutional investors. The New York-based company serves over 400 institutional clients managing more than $75 trillion in assets under management annually. The platform addresses fragmentation in data infrastructure as AI becomes more integral to investment workflows. It combines Rimes' data network—which includes over 1,000 data partners and billions of daily data points—with AI-enabled automation capabilities. The system is built around four pillars: a trusted data network, connected enterprise intelligence, decision-grade workflows, and operational control. Chief executive Vijay Mayadas said the platform provides necessary transparency and auditability as AI advances from informing decisions to executing them autonomously, meeting regulatory and board expectations for institutional investors.
