Teachers Federal Credit Union accelerates strategic branch expansion across New York and Florida. Business · OCT 16, 2026 PR Newswire New locations complement the credit union's nationwide digital capabilities while strengthening member relationships and community connection HAUPPAUGE, N... New locations complement the credit union's nationwide digital capabilities while strengthening member relationships and community connection HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Teachers Federal Credit Union, one of the nation's largest credit unions with $9.9 billion in assets and over 472,000 members, is continuing to expand its branch network across New York and Florida, with new locations planned for Estero and Wesley Chapel, Florida, and Farmingville, New York. With a national open charter and members across all 50 states, Teachers combines the convenience of digital banking with access to personalized financial guidance. As the credit union's membership has grown nationwide, its physical footprint has evolved alongside it, with continued investment in its home state of New York and an increasing presence in Florida. Teachers is also identifying additional markets across the country where a branch can bring the credit union closer to its members and support its long-term mission of helping members build a strong financial foundation today, for a better tomorrow. "Our growth is guided by how we can better serve our members and support their financial well-being," said Brad Calhoun, President and CEO of Teachers Federal Credit Union. "Our digital capabilities make it possible for us to serve members wherever they are, while our branches provide opportunities to build personal relationships and offer guidance through the financial moments that matter most. As we continue to expand in New York, strengthen our presence in Florida, and enter new markets, we remain focused on giving members more convenient ways to connect with Teachers and access the personalized service, expertise, and support they value - wherever and whenever they need us." To help guide its branch strategy, Teachers partnered with global commercial real estate services firm JLL to conduct a market screening. "Establishing our partnership with JLL was an important step in developing our approach to branch expansion. We wanted to understand where our members are, what markets are evolving, and where a physical presence could create the greatest opportunity for Teachers," added Inna Sprague, Chief Experience Officer, Teachers Federal Credit Union. "We combined internal data with factors such as market growth, demographics, competition, and site characteristics of potential locations to develop a branch expansion strategy that aligned with member needs, market opportunity, and our broader growth goals." Teachers has steadily expanded its branch network in recent years, entering the Florida market with its first location in Tampa's Westshore district in 2023 and building on that presence with branches in Naples in 2025 and Lake Mary, serving the greater Orlando region, in 2026. In New York, Teachers opened a new branch in Holbrook in 2025 and continues to invest in its Long Island footprint. The planned locations in Estero, Wesley Chapel, and Farmingville represent the next phase of that strategy, expanding access in markets where Teachers sees opportunities to serve both existing and future members. As Teachers grows, its investment in the communities it serves grows with it. The credit union's approach extends beyond opening branches to supporting organizations and causes that make a meaningful difference in the places where its members live and work. Through its annual Golf Tournament benefiting Children's Miracle Network, Teachers has raised more than $3 million since 2023 to support children and families, including through partnerships with Cohen Children's Medical Center in New York and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Florida. Teachers also supports the American Cancer Society through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, serving in 2026 as Presenting Sponsor on Long Island and Eastern Long Island and Silver Sponsor in Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida. Microsoft sues JLL over legal costs linked to forklift accident.

Microsoft sues JLL over legal costs linked to forklift accident. Tech giant alleges project manager did not fulfill insurance promise Microsoft is going after JLL years after a forklift accident seriously injured a construction worker at its Flatiron office space. The tech giant sued the brokerage in New York County Supreme Court last week, Bisnow reported. Microsoft is alleging that JLL, which played a project manager role at 122 Fifth Avenue, isn't covering legal costs brought on by the incident. The partnership between JLL and Microsoft dates back to 2012, according to the lawsuit. As part of the deal, JLL serves as project manager for Microsoft spaces. It then indemnifies the tenant from lawsuits linked to buildouts, according to the suit. At Bromley Companies' 122 Fifth Avenue, however, JLL did not provide the promised insurance to Microsoft, according to the complaint. The tech company believes it should've been shielded under a $10 million liability insurance plan related to the buildout of the 150,000 square feet Microsoft leased in 2021. That became a critical issue in 2023. Four months before Microsoft began occupying its space, a construction worker was allegedly hit by a forklift, causing permanent injuries. The worker filed a lawsuit regarding the incident in 2024, later adding Microsoft and the forklift operator to the suit. JLL's legal counsel claimed the forklift operator's company was retained by building ownership and that he was working on a separate project than the buildout, according to Microsoft's complaint. But the tenant claimed both the forklift operator and the injured worker were plying their trades on the Microsoft space. Neither Microsoft nor JLL immediately responded to requests for comment from the publication. Microsoft locked in its 150,000-square-foot lease at 122 Fifth Avenue in 2021, taking approximately half of the building's office space. JLL represented the tech company in the lease negotiations. Late last year, a joint venture between Helaba Bank and DekaBank provided a $163 million fixed-rate, interest-only loan for 122 Fifth Avenue. The financing replaced a $170 million loan from real estate finance and investment management firm PCCP.

Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and Commercial Real Estate brokers join forces and leverage assets to attract business investment to Southern Nevada.

Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and Commercial Real Estate brokers join forces and leverage assets to attract business investment to Southern Nevada. The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) is strengthening its collaboration with Southern Nevada's commercial real estate community through LVGEA Broker Partnerships, an initiative that formalizes relationships between LVGEA and participating commercial real estate brokerage offices across the region. Through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), LVGEA and participating brokers have outlined a coordinated approach to supporting prospective companies considering Southern Nevada for relocation, expansion or investment. The partnerships are designed to leverage the brokerage's client relationships and commercial real estate expertise with LVGEA's economic development resources. Under the partnership framework, LVGEA provides auxiliary site selection support to help brokers and their clients evaluate opportunities in Southern Nevada. This support frequently includes research and data, public relations, and assistance identifying and negotiating local and state incentives. With the mutual consent of the broker, client, and LVGEA, LVGEA may also serve as a liaison to municipalities, utility providers, public agencies, business leaders and other regional stakeholders whose involvement could support a successful transaction. "These partnerships strengthen the connection between commercial real estate expertise and economic development resources in support of companies considering Southern Nevada," said Danielle Casey, President & CEO of Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance. "By working directly with brokers on active client opportunities, we can provide additional research, data, incentive support and regional connections that add value throughout the site selection and business attraction process. We're excited about the opportunity to bridge the expertise and relationships of these professional communities with one common goal, a stronger southern Nevada economy." The partnerships also establish a framework for LVGEA and participating brokers to strengthen connections across their respective networks. Brokers may assist LVGEA with introductions to affiliated offices in other markets to increase visibility for Southern Nevada and expand opportunities for regional economic growth, while LVGEA can assist brokers with introductions to regional stakeholders. "Southern Nevada continues to attract companies looking for opportunity and having a coordinated approach to supporting that growth is important. LVGEA Broker Partnerships create a stronger connection between the real estate community and the broader economic development efforts happening across the region, helping us all play a role in its continued success," said Molly Hamrick, President & CEO of Coldwell Banker Commercial Premier and a member of the LVGEA Board of Directors Executive Committee. LVGEA and its brokerage partners will also maximize opportunities to participate in one another's relevant events and programs and collaborate on cross-promotional events and marketing campaigns that increase the visibility and economic profile of Southern Nevada. "Having a strong partnership between the commercial real estate community and LVGEA benefits everyone involved in bringing new businesses to Southern Nevada," said John Sharpe, President of Lee & Associates Las Vegas. Avison Young is proud to be an early Broker Partner, and we're excited to work alongside LVGEA to help tell Southern Nevada's story and compete for the opportunities ahead," said Suzette LaGrange, Principal, Las Vegas Market Leader & Managing Director of Avison Young. To date, LVGEA has executed MOUs with eight local brokerage offices: Avison Young-Nevada, CBRE Las Vegas, Coldwell Banker Premier Realty and Coldwell Banker Commercial Premier, Lee & Associates Las Vegas, LOGIC Commercial Real Estate, ROI Commercial Real Estate, JLL and Cushman & Wakefield, and encourage others to join its growing roster. "By bringing CBRE's global real estate perspective and deep local market expertise together with LVGEA's economic development resources, we can give companies a more complete view of Southern Nevada and help them make informed decisions with confidence. Our region has a compelling story to tell, and together we can help more companies recognize the opportunity available to invest, grow and succeed in Southern Nevada," said Cassie Catania-Hsu, Senior Managing Director at CBRE.
