Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Responsibilities
  • Support the Operating Room by providing radiology guidance for cases.
  • Maintain knowledge of all aspects of the Operating Room, including radiology protocols and equipment.
  • Provide on-call support for the Operating Room by participating in the mandatory call rotation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment-related issues as needed and report issues as they occur to appropriate leadership.
  • Insert intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies.
  • Perform imaging for myelograms, therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium.
  • Assist physicians with biopsy and aspiration procedures when needed, practicing sterile technique as required.
  • Set up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures.
  • Assist with transporting patients to and from the Emergency Room and inpatient areas.
  • Perform portable X-ray imaging as ordered.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.
  • Prior experience in Operating Room procedures.
