About the Job

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Three to five years of hands-on experience in vibration, shock, or environmental test engineering in a hardware-intensive environment such as aerospace, defence, or automotive is required.
  • Direct hands-on experience operating electrodynamic shaker systems and vibration test control software across sine, random, shock, and sine burst/sweep testing is required.
  • A solid understanding of structural dynamics and environmental test methods, with working knowledge of relevant standards such as RPUG, MIL-STD-1540/810, NASA GEVS, or ECSS, is required.
  • Experience designing or evaluating test fixtures and deriving test levels from mass properties and force/overturning moment budgets is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, interface control documents, and test specifications, and translate them into executable test procedures, is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills across engineering and production audiences are required.

Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical and environmental test readiness for vibration testing, including random vibration, sine burst/sweep, sine-on-random/random-on-random, resonance search and dwell, shock, mass properties/center-of-gravity verification, and fastener torque and thread-locking integrity testing.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot the vibration test system, including the electrodynamic shaker, slip table, head expander, control software, and electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic subsystems.
  • Design or evaluate test fixtures, considering structural dynamics principles and force/overturning moment budgets, and coordinate fixture fabrication.
  • Author technically correct, version-controlled test procedures and reports that can be executed on the floor without interpretation.
  • Act as the mechanical test point of contact for engineering and production when structural behaviour during testing is unclear, unexpected, or blocking.
  • Partner with structures and mechanical designers to derive and verify test levels and assess the testability of design changes.
  • Own Tier-2 technical support for mechanical test non-conformances and anomalies, including triage, root cause analysis, corrective action, and closure.
  • Analyze test data and communicate results and recommendations to engineering teams, while mentoring AIT technicians on mechanical test execution.

Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Vibration Research software, including VibrationVIEW or ObserVIEW.
  • Experience in spacecraft, aerospace, defence, or other high-reliability mechanical test environments.
  • Familiarity with satellite structural qualification or acceptance test campaigns.
  • Exposure to HALT/HASS or other accelerated environmental test methods.
  • Experience supporting new test equipment acquisition, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and commissioning.
  • Proficiency with Jira or equivalent engineering tracking and non-conformance management systems.

About the Company

ICEYE

SAR satellite constellation for Earth monitoring

ICEYE builds and operates the world’s largest synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation to monitor the Earth continuously, day or night and in any weather. Its SAR satellites capture radar imagery that can see through clouds and darkness, giving customers in defence and intelligence, insurance, emergency management, and environmental monitoring a persistent view of wide areas. Images and analytics are delivered from a network of satellites and, increasingly, sovereign constellations that governments can operate themselves. ICEYE plans to scale up production toward about 100 satellites per year by 2028 and has pursued large funding rounds to expand capacity and sovereign delivery, aiming to grow its revenue and backlog while offering reliable, near-real-time Earth observation data.
