About the company

The Coca-Cola Company owns and markets beverage brands sold around the world, including Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Dasani, Powerade and fairlife. Its flagship cola has been sold in the United States since 1886 and anchors a portfolio spanning sparkling drinks, water, sports drinks, coffee, tea, juice and dairy. Rather than bottling most drinks itself, it sells concentrates and syrups to a franchised network of independent bottlers, which package and distribute finished beverages. It earns most revenue from those concentrate sales, plus finished drinks from bottlers it owns. The company was incorporated in 1892 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

What believers are saying

  • Sales momentum is building: global unit case volume rose 5% in the quarter ended July 2026, led by Asia Pacific.
  • Partners multiply Coca-Cola's reach: about 700,000 people worked across its bottling system in December 2025.
  • Coca-Cola promotes from within: Henrique Braun, who joined in 1996, became CEO in March 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Corporate jobs are being trimmed: Coca-Cola cut 75 Atlanta headquarters roles in February 2026, with more waves planned.
  • Costa Coffee staff face an uncertain owner: Coca-Cola again sought a buyer in October 2026 after weak earlier bids.
  • Divestitures shrink Coca-Cola's own payroll: headcount fell to about 65,900 in 2025, mainly from selling businesses.

What makes The Coca-Cola Company unique

  • Coca-Cola sells only drinks, from sodas to coffee and dairy, while its main rival PepsiCo also sells snacks.
  • Coca-Cola also runs coffee shops: its Costa Coffee chain has about 2,700 UK and Ireland outlets and 20,000 staff.
  • Coca-Cola keeps building big brands: it added over 10 billion-dollar brands during James Quincey's nine years as CEO.

Cramer says hold Broadcom, buy Coca-Cola after 33% rally and earnings beat

Jim Cramer told a "Mad Money" caller on October 28 to hold Broadcom and buy Coca-Cola. "I wouldn't shoot Broadcom, and I would buy Coca-Cola," he said. Coca-Cola shares are up about 33% this year, beating every Magnificent 7 stock. Broadcom is down 0.31% after hitting an all-time high of $495 in June 2026. Coca-Cola reported third-quarter revenue of $13.4 billion, up 7% and above the $12.9 billion estimate. Earnings per share rose 11% to $0.91. It raised full-year earnings growth guidance to at least 11%, from 9%-10%. Broadcom's AI chip revenue is projected to exceed $115 billion in fiscal 2027. The stock has returned 603.64% over five years.

Coca-Cola and 37 other firms object to OKX-ICE listing tokenized shares without consent

Coca-Cola has joined 37 other large corporations in formally objecting to OKX-ICE listing tokenized versions of their shares. The products reference existing listed stocks without company consent on the OKX-ICE crypto venue. Corporate filings question how 24/7 crypto trading of tokenized equities could interact with traditional market pricing and governance rules. Coca-Cola, with a market value of about $394.6 billion, reported third-quarter 2026 sales of $13,380 million and net income of $4,009 million. It pays a regular quarterly dividend of $0.53 per share. The objection does not change those fundamentals. Investors should watch whether regulators or the company set clear rules for any future tokenized products referencing its stock.

Coca-Cola's CEO rejects "fridge cigarette" label for Diet Coke as revenue hits $13.4B

Coca-Cola's chief executive officer, Henrique Braun, has no love for the "fridge cigarette" nickname some fans use for Diet Coke. Asked about it in a Yahoo Finance interview on Tuesday, he said consumers can call it what they want, but "we don't position Diet Coke in that way." He called the drink "a great-tasting product, which connects with the consumer in a very unique way." The phrase spread among Gen Z after a viral TikTok video in 2025 that has nearly 4 million views. The interview came on the day of Coca-Cola's quarterly earnings, which narrowly beat estimates with $13.4 billion of revenue. Braun told investors that Diet Coke and Coca-Cola Zero grew by double digits. The company's share price is up 33% since the start of the year.

US consumer resilience lifts Coca-Cola, Visa and Walmart shares despite high prices

US consumers keep spending despite higher prices, and that is lifting shares of several big consumer names, according to Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi. He called the trend "remarkable resilience." Coca-Cola raised prices, yet Coke Zero sales rose 16% in the third quarter. Hilton reported strong spending on rooms, and Delta continues to see strength in premium seats and upgrades. Executives said spending across income bands stayed steady, with the highest band growing fastest. One said it saw no sign of weakness among lower-spending consumers. Sozzi said this resilience explains recent gains in Target and Macy's shares. Walmart stock is up about 11% in the month, after a challenging year for shareholders.

Coca-Cola Q3: 7% organic growth, 22 straight quarters of share gains, 2027 Africa headwind

Coca-Cola reported 7% organic revenue growth in the third quarter of 2026, extending its run to 22 consecutive quarters of value share gains. Growth in India and Brazil offset weak demand in China and weather-related pressure in Japan. North America volume was flat, which the company blamed on the timing of the July 4 holiday and temporary finished goods challenges. It raised its 2026 organic revenue growth guidance to at least 5%, allowing for six fewer selling days in the fourth quarter. The planned refranchising of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa should cut 2027 revenue by 8 points but improve margins and returns. Coca-Cola holds leverage at 1.3 times EBITDA while it awaits a court decision in its dispute with the IRS. It is also exploring an IPO of its bottling operations in India.
