Requirements
A high school degree or GED is required; an associate degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of culinary experience is required.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
SERV Safe certification is required.
Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information is required.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
A mature walk with Jesus Christ is required.
Responsibilities
Assist the Food Service Manager with preparing the department's yearly budget and working within the budget's constraints.
Direct kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleanup.
Assist in overseeing food service needs for the daycare to ensure all needs are being met.
Assign tasks and duties, and supervise attendants, cooks, stewarding staff, volunteers, and specialty department coordinators.
Assist in menu planning, ordering, and implementing donations from outside resources to create a nutritional and healthy menu.
Maintain an open relationship with vendors and donation providers through deliveries and communication.
Resolve issues as they arise and bring them to the attention of the Food and Beverage Manager.
Maintain kitchen reports, including temperature logs and meal counts.
Uphold a clean environment and maintain readiness for inspections.

Monday through Wednesday: 10AM-6PM, Friday & Saturday: 530AM-130PM
Buffalo City Mission is seeking a Lead chef. This position is full-time, working at our men’s shelter.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
